Kiffin would be a moron to leave OM. Expectations are much lower, the fan base doesn’t call for his head if he doesn’t make the playoffs every year, and he makes absolute bank.
Everyone eventually becomes a victim of their own success if they overstay their welcome

Your success creates expectations, eventually anything less than those expectations becomes unacceptable or you plateau and become stagnant. Just like any school, there will come a time where winning 9 games a season is not enough whether that is because you can never get over the hump or you got over the hump and regressed back to the mean. Very few coaches escape that fate. There are far more Dabo's and Franklins, and Bowdens, and mack browns than there are Sabans out there

The advantage at Ole Miss is that Kiffin has a longer grace period to build up expectations than if he were at a bigger brand, but it all leads to the same place eventually

idk if that’s true about Florida.
It's one of the most true things about Florida. Your last 4 coaches lasted 4 years or less. Half were let go after ONE bad season
McElwain 10-4, 9-4, fired after going 3-4 in year three.
Mullen 10-3, 11-2, 8-4 (covid year and add I always add two cupcakes to covid seasons to show a true record, so 10-4), fired after going 5-6

Yes for 2 reasons

1. You fired your previous 2 after 1 bad season lol. Hell, Jimmy boy got 7 games of a bad season before he was let go.

2. DJ Lagway and the crazy schedule. Lagway was seen as a guy who could take Florida over the hump. The problem is, once he got hurt in the off-season, it was the canary in the coal mine. Guy lost a whole offseason of development and it truly showed.

My fear is that we pull LK.

He does well enough, but doesn't win a NC, not within 2 yrs or even 4. Say we only make the playoffs once maybe twice.

We will fire him and we will owe him 80M NOT TO COACH.

I personally have a difficult time seeing Lane do that to ole miss, but people get over things as time passes. Would elevate the rivalry nationally.

This is the same guy that left TN in the middle of the night with a police escort. Don’t overestimate his loyalty.
