ask why this thread was deleted today, only to resurface?
I have no qualms to say stuff on other boards, but this thread is so full of "please leave Saban " toned posts it's beyond humorous.

Now this thread was unwhacked (is that a word?) only to be filled up with more "Saban may still leave" posts.

I'm glad that Nick signed this super binding contract to supercede that kind-of-binding contract he signed 9 months ago...

He signd a contract letting UA give him an extra $2 mil a year with no buyout because he wasn't looking for a new job and bama wasn't worried about him leaving at all.

You know, Doc, we are watching the Alabama contingent here meltdown before our very eyes - all at the mere suggestion that Saban could be gone after all.

Wow. This was somewhat unexpected. Could you imagine if he REALLY did leave?

It would be epic.

It's what we do, go cry to your gump brothers and sisters on your board if you don't like it.

He didn't sign a contract 9 months ago. If you feel he did, please provide a link.

I was really baffled yesterday with everyone acting like Saban agreeing to an extension means anything. If he hadn't signed a contract extension in March, I'd be more inclined to think he was staying in Bama.

I'm just confused how an extension in December closes the book and the extension in March did not.

saban hasn't signed anything and all the pressure and focus is off of him at the moment

pretty sure he knew mack was going to officially resign this weekend and knew that all the focus would be on him.

sexton tells him to announce that he agrees to the terms, but doesn't sign anything....

I'm sorry. It was March 2012. Please replace 9 months with 21 months in all of my previous posts.

That he isn't leaving Bama. Willing to do a ban, sig, avatar bet with anyone that wants.

My other opinion is you missed your calling. Should have been an air traffic controller.

Also, TD crushes all other boards.

Doc, before you thought he was locked up? Now you don't know if he'll take the big offer or not?

Guys this is all over with. Just has to play out. ...

You also seem pretty confident here. Why avoid the wagers now?

University of Alabama Director of Athletics Bill Battle is pleased to announce that head football coach Nick Saban and the University have concluded a new long-term agreement.

"We are very pleased to have this agreement completed," said Saban. "Terry and our family are very happy in Tuscaloosa. It has become home to us. This agreement allows us to continue to build on the tremendous success that we have enjoyed to this point - successes that have transcended the football field. We are excited about the future and the University of Alabama is where I plan to end my coaching career."

Nobody knows whether he has signed the contract yet, but it is dumb to assume that he hasn't. "Concluded" would also imply that it is signed. Just wondering how official it needs to be beyond official statements from the university?

What is the relevance of him signing a contract if it has no penalty clause in it if he leaves?
