Now it will get interesting. Saban may be later gator. They were just talking about this yesterday on sports talk radio in BR. All they said was when Mack was done at Texas. Maybe they knew more.

it doesnt take long to call the agent and gauge some initial interest. i even understand there is this thing called multi tasking where you can call one guy while waiting on another's reply.

Gee thanks for the obvious reply. Texas will already be entering the game late they need to have their targets set already. You can't just call 50 guys and see who takes it you have to have a plan.

I'm sorry but why in the world would Saban leave for Texas. Alabama is a great job as well.

they should give this job to Manny Diaz

$10,000,000 ebucks says that is exactly what they will do.

Texas is perhaps the best job in the country, no way they would settle for Diaz

They were going to give it to Will Muschamp...

Trust me Man I do. Their AD seems to be obsessed with this idea of already having a succession plan in place. (Muschamp) and he was rumored to do it with Harsin but what if it was really Diaz. (plus Harsin sucks)

But that plan probably has taken a major hit because of Texas' regression and Muschamp's horrible year at Florida. That LHN deal means Texas has to win big (and gives them the money to make sure that happens).

true but Diaz did well with his side of the ball.

I am agreeing with you. I have met Manny, have a cowbell signed by him and watched him in open practices at State. The guy would make anyone want to grab a helmet and pads and lay someone out.

Definitely Saban. Or Bill Belichick. Possibly Pat Riley.

coaching at a place like texas is more about being an effective administrator rather than being a genius on one side of the ball or the other.

you could say this about coaching anywhere; if the HC is a "generalist" and has great mgt and people skills, he can be successful anywhere.

saban would take the texas job in a split, they can outbid bama easily and he wouldn't have to live in alabama
