I am going to go out on a limb here, and guess you only casually follow college football. You saw the Cincinnati Bearcats went unbeaten and finished in the top 10. Armed with this knowledge, you opened your internet browser and googled "Cincinnati defensive coordinator" and discovered Marcus Freeman. Then, without knowing anything about Mr. Freeman, you decided right then and there, that Marcus Freeman is "the guy".

He has over 13K posts since 2006, so I think your statement is probably not accurate. I have no insight to his sources, etc... but the guy has been around here posting stuff for a long arse time, he knows a good bit about LSU football...

It's okay, not everyone can be right. LSU fans by and large fall into 3 categories when it comes to hiring assistants:
1) did they previously coach at LSU?
2) did they previously work on a staff with the current LSU HC?
3) are they a "hot commodity" because they are a coordinator/position coach on a staff coming off a very successful year even if they have no connection to (1) or (2).

I do not doubt this one bit. I'd imagine O is taking his sweet time with this hire and good for him. Last years record does not matter, these applicants dont care LSU went 5-5.
LSU has the top talent, the top facilities, and is a stepping stone job. Look at Brady and Aranda. O can sell that to basically 95% of all asst coaches in America.
I only take exception with Adam proclaiming Freeman is the guy and was to be hired 2 days ago.
