You guys really do believe it was all of Crowton's fault, and none of Miles' fault, don't you.

Anybody that doesn't think that Miles strongly influenced the offense the last two years is just at the games to tailgate and watch Mike the Tiger crowd surf.

I think Miles certainly had influence on the offense.

I also think that it is the offensive coordinators job to take that influence and make it successful. People who think LSU's biggest problem on offense was playcalling really don't know what they are talking about, IMO. The biggest problem was the execution of the passing game.

I think Crowton will do better when he has full control of the offense. I also think Crowton was pretty poor at working with Miles and putting together an offense that executed well. Miles' influence certainly didn't complicate our offense. If anything, it simplified it. Yet, we were unable to execute at a high enough level on offense.

This is one of the best descriptions of the Miles/Crowton relationship I've heard yet. Both are accountable. However, Miles wasn't asking Crowton to solve world hunger. Just a solid run game that set up the pass. Ball control and quick strike when open.

And who gives a rats about political repercussions. So what? As a fan, I could care less if Leach brought political repercussions as long as he came in and got the job done. This is sports.

Speaking of Louisiana seafood vs. Maryland seafood...steamed shrimp over boiled shrimp? Really, how do get the flavor in them? Crabcakes...bland crabs and saltines/breadcrumbs? I was in Ocean City, Md this past summer and the seafood made me think of 2 things...Captain D's and Long John Silver's!

I wish Crowton well. Why not just let him move on so we can move on.

2) "All" LSU fans did not want to run him out of town. Only a handful of them who are all looking for an excuse why LSU failed in other areas.

3) It is nice to have an Offensive Coordinator who engineered a win in a national championship game.

Crowton/Miles mix left LSU's offense with no true identity and a terrible passing game
I don't think CLM had a want to get involved in playcalling. GC left him little choice after '08 and early '09 seasons imo.

FWIW, Miles was a big supporter of the option in the game planning.

Crowton just didn't call a good game and didn't develop our QBs to an elite level.

Nothing wrong with the option, if executed properly. It takes a lot of practice time to get blocking schemes, spacing, angles, timing etc. correct and you have to feature it over 20% or it's a waste of practice.

He may have after things started going downhill. I don't think he had as much influence as some of you think.

Play calling was most definitely a problem, along with the execution of the passing game and the offensive line (although they did better this year).

If anything, Miles has the biggest influence on the offense in 2007 by not allowing Crowton to radically change the previous offense that first year.

I know our QB situation dropped off after that, but Crowton is supposed to be a QB coach, and our QBs have regressed over the past 3 seasons.

Anyway, Duck fans didn't want to listen to BYU fans, we didn't want to listen to the Duck fans, so it's no surprise that Maryland fans don't want to listen to us now.

I was going to type the same thing but ended up letting it go.

Maryland fans think LSU fans are spoiled because LSU fans want their team to compete for the conference championship each year

IMO, mainly because of the lack of development in our QBs that took away from a downfield passing game. The option just game us another avenue to spread out the defense and allow our playmakers to make plays. As much as I criticised the option, I'm pretty sure LSU's offense and TOs would have been much worse without it.

Has anyone posted on their boards the "trend post" that the Oregon fan gave us in 07? That should lower their expectations a little. Or has anyone just gone on there and explained what our offense has looked like the past 2 seasons?
