One radio host mentions this to stir the pot and y’all run with it
Woodward isn’t making an affirmative action hire. He’s just not. This hire is his legacy. He will get the best coach available.

Saban did not have a good record before being hired by LSU.
That's not correct, actually. Saban had never had a losing season as a HC before LSU. Tucker has only had losing seasons prior to this year. Not comparable.

That was a much different era.

LSU has won 3 titles since Saban was hired
It’s a different program now and attracts a different level of HC experience
That said, Napier would be fine by me. But not a lame duck P5 coach who hasn’t won anything

Tucker’s resume doesn’t even warrant an interview

I didn't realize we were searching for a defensive coordinator.
To be clear you don’t want Kiffin because he’s a good OC masquerading as a HC but you defend Tucker because he’s a bad DC masquerading as a head coach? I don’t want either but it doesn’t sound like your conclusions are based on facts but rather you pick the facts and narrative to fit your predetermined conclusions.

I know you’re not asking me. But I’m going to answer anyways. Let’s put it this way, anyone can have an individual good season. Look at 2019 with O.
Sure, but usually it involves a generational player or two at key positions. I dont Think that’s the case with Michigan.

How did Pete Carroll do in the NFL first go round? How did spurrier due? St Nick?

Can understand the apprehension but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Tucker is hired. Our biggest money guy is a big time democrat and has the presidents ear. I get the feeling we’re hunting a politically correct hire, not big game coach hire. Woke hire 100%
I hope I’m 100% wrong but the writing is on the wall.

That might be necessary to finish 15-0, but not 9-3. Tucker also had one outlier year as a DC in the NFL (2011), then immediately regressed to his subpar mean the following season. His meager HC career could easily follow the same pattern. LSU cannot take that risk.

Who cares. He’s not the next coach at LSU.

You have no clue what “woke” is. LSU is far from “woke”.
Posted on 11/15/21 at 1:53 pm to semjase
Literally no one is saying this. This is more republitard delusion. Goes in line with “stolen election”, “baby eating” and “satanic cults”. It’s all ridiculous thinking from ridiculous minded morons.

You can deny this all you want, but you give this resume to Fisher or Riley and their name would never even be mentioned. Why do you think his name has been pushed so hard by Tate and company. Certainly not because of his stellar defensive rankings or short unimpressive HC record. Crowning achievement is beating Michigan by 4 points at home, followed by a drubbing to a bad Purdue team. Tucker would cost LSU 8 million plus a Year not including a 2.5 million buyout. If you want to take that kind of risk go with Aranda or Napier for a whole lot less money. I hope it’s just the woke retards on this site pushing him and not Woodward.
