We heard the exact same thing last year. Hopefully this isn't dejavu
Last year it was politics that ruined the deal, not Jimbo. He would've came if Les would've been let go.... LSU opted not to have a vacancy. Now we do, so barring a MAJOR issue......sources say it's all agreed too.
Everyone wants 100%, it's not going to be 100% until the ink is dry and it's announced. Enjoy the fact that they got the guy they wanted; so it seems.

I get nervous when I hear things like "80%"
How in the world could anyone possibly be able to quantify the situation into a percentage like that?

let's face it, 99% deals hardly ever get done. Maybe 80% is a good number because there's an honest line of communications in lieu of sneaky backdoor shite.

We apparently have to wait until Sunday for Jimbo to make a decision. Everything about that delay favors FSU. Momentum, inertia, the path of least resistance, constant interaction with FSU players, unfettered access to Jimbo from FSU administrators, and so on. I just wish there was some way this could have been accomplished with a blitzkrieg strike. The more public and prolonged this is, the harder it gets for LSU.

LSU brass: So, there's our offer, Jimbo. Are you ready to become the new head coach at LSU? Jimbo: Well, I'm about 80%.
I don't know why I laughed so hard at this.

This is my concern, and is partially what hurt things last year.

The Fisher extension report will break either Friday or after the Florida game. His agent got what he wanted out of LSU

If we get Jimbo and give him the money for all the assistants he wants and all the shadow stuff he needs to compete with Saban they can give JJ a 10 year contract for all I care.
I know this shouldn't matter but I think it helps our chances if Florida beats FSU this weekend... simply from a bad taste in the mouth on both sides. It'll be hard to pull for me to pull for captain yellow teeth though.

Florida State's president is currently working on a new deal with Jimbo, and said he hopes to announce it before their game on Saturday.
Alleva will find a way to blow this.

Not saying that it is impossible but how do you know this for certain? ....

80% chance Jimbo agrees to the terms LSU has offered and will be the next Head Coach for the LSU football program.
Does your source has multiple Jimbos to study in a controlled social experiment?
Would 8 out of 10 Jimbos approve the deal?

How about if he does not sign it and just willing to see what FSU can do? Of course FSU is going to offer a counter offer and will try to lock him in. Will it happen is the issue. They can say and do what they want but what if our offer is too much to turn down? We shall see...

Don't you think LSU would be given another opportunity to counter?

Yesterday on Finebaum..save it, I know what you are going to say...he had on the Nole beat writer from Orlando. His take was that it was 90% that Jimbo was staying. He was not into sources, just his evaluation of the 2 programs, what he claims to know bout Jimbo & his family's situation. But he seemed to make a big deal out of "FSU is not a stepping stone position", it's "better & more prestigious than LSU", etc. FWIW.

Really 80% ugh. Sounds like BS.
