Besides Raymond, it appears the most significant hire he's been able to make is that chick named Katie Turner. She was director of recruiting operations at Georgia for Smart and worked on Saban's staff at Bama prior to that.

He's only been the WR coach since 2019 lol. The only one he even coached their whole career was London

And his prowess as a recruiter seems to be the unique ability to get southern California kids to attend school at....the University of Southern California.

He may be a great coach. Who knows? But I'm not quite sure why he would have been a "good hire" for LSU?

Perhaps not the OP, but it feels like there are some on this board who are desperately hoping for Napier to have great success at Florida just so they can tell everyone they were "right" in saying LSU should have hired him. Maybe I'm just an a-hole, but I kind of take a different approach. I hope he flames out spectacularly at Florida and returns to irrelevance. Not because I have any personal animosity towards the guy (I don't know him) but because he is the HC of a conference rival.

Mullen was at FL longer than Napier will be.

I give the former Sun Belt Slayer 2 years, tops.

Welcome to the SEC, you aint in Kansas (Sun Belt) anymore.

It is a coaching change... on a board called "Coaching Changes"... Don't like it, don't open the fricking thread.

Napier could hire some random dude off the street to wash laundry and some of y’all would say it would have been a good hire for LSU and call him a genius.

Napier could also hire Nick Saban as an Assistant HC, Kirby as a DC, and Kiffin as his OC and this board would say they were all trash hires.

He’s been the receivers coach at the school since 2019. In his time he helped coach five different NFL draft picks on the offensive side of the ball including quarterback Sam Darnold, and receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster, Ronald Jones and Michael Pittman Jr. He developed Pittman Jr. into finishing top-20 nationally in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns while being a finalist for the Biletnikoff and Witten awards in 2019.
Rated as the 4th best recruiter in the Pac-12 in 2019.
WR Coach of the year 2020.

Drake London is one of the top WRs in the nation

It’s a solid hire

That he was not retained by Lincoln Riley at USC.

It was just a attempted shot at LSU. A very poor one, but some people can’t resist taking them.
