Would you guys feel the same if Lane announces he leaving early next week and before the playoffs Ole Miss and Sumrall are all over the news? His team is also on the verge of a playoff berth, after all.

Yes.

But this is not an apples to apples comparison.

Ole Miss needs to beat State and we're hosting a playoff game.

Tulane cannot reach their conference championship game by simply winning. They need a team ahead of them to lose. They then need to win that game. They do not control their own destiny, and Ole Miss does.

If you click back to the article on his firing from the Raiders, it appears he disagreed with personnel decisions, including the decision to draft Jamarcus Russell. Guess Al Davis got that one wrong.

You’re creating hypotheticals I can’t speak to, but I think the differences are pretty glaring.

Yes, those weird Aggies chanting "suck that Aggie dick bitch" while tailgaters asphyxiate on the smell of marijuana from non-students on campus are THA WORST.

This is the definition of hypocrisy bud. Y’all are butthurt Kiffin may leave during a playoff run but would want your future coach to leave during one, if it were Sumrall.

This is why you guys can’t be taken seriously here.

Not to mention the money. Sumrall going to Ole Miss is going to be a massive raise. Lane going to LSU or Florida ain't. That's just a business decision. But the other point is Tulane isn't in. Some other teams have to lose before they get in, and they still have to win their conference to get in. Ole Miss just has to win the Egg Bowl.

You're welcome to go to the Tiger Rant if all your interested in is an echo chamber. But this is an open board for all the fan bases. Who knew sharing an article about the most in-demand coach would get everyone so upset.

I agreed with you. Don't call me a hypocrite because you didn't read the very first word of my post. I'm also not a hypocrite for pointing out the major differences between Ole Miss's situation and that of Tulane, the most important one being the Rebs control their destiny and Tulane doesn't.

They’re the same situation. You guys just don’t want to admit it’s hypocritical.

Several of your fans have even said they wish Lane would announce one way or the other so they can move on to Sumrall, if Lane were to leave.

Putting Ole Miss as the ones creating a distraction and trying to get a sitting coach with a team on a playoff run to leave his team.

I asked if you would feel the same way and you said “yes”. That’s not agreeing with me.

The truth is that leaving your team in season will become a new norm. All of these people pushing the legacy and morality narratives will have to accept this.

Amazing that they all love Ole Miss now. Before Lane, they were the racist school with a rebel flag and Johnny Reb as their mascot.

Yep, everything is just happening faster. Schools are going to fire mid season and hire mid season.

Well, maybe that's true too. But I meant that "yes," I agree with you I would feel the same way about Kiffin walking out on a playoff team is just as bad as Sumrall doing the same, and it is not something I want to do, although there are massive differences between their situations.

EDIT - I also believe I was responding "yes" to your second question of your post.

Exactly. Lane is the bad guy until the next coach does it, which could be this very season with Sumrall.

Just look at the Ole Miss fans in here. It’s “dirty” that their coach is the one being targeted, but would just be different if they were the ones doing the targeting.

ETA: It really does suck. As an LSU fan, I don’t even like that they’re linked to Kiffin right now. I do understand that’s the nature of the beast and is a direct result of the new transfer portal and early signing period.
