Yeah, and he prayed about it. Turns out the result was for him to strong arm OM, so not sure what he asked for, but it works for me

He should have never left. He knows, we all know, and now that he’s not actively working to beat LSU it’s all water under the bridge.

I’m guessing he is looking for validation. What he is doing, in accepting the LSU job while abandoning his team in a playoff run, has a high degree of slime associated with it. For a lot of coaches this would be a manageable problem, but a coach with Kiffin’s slimy past runs the risk of becoming a pariah. So he cloaks himself with the respectability of Pete Carroll and Nick Saban. Smart move. But let’s not kid ourselves that they are helping him make this personal decision.
