He was creative enough to put up an 80 spot in a single game!

it doesn't. But when you are dominating on the ground, its more likely a testament to the talent then the guy calling simple running plays.

I don't know if Riley calls his own game either. But every time I've seen him on tv during a game, for as long as I can remember, he is standing there with his arms folded.

Precisely my feeling. I may like a wide-open system better, but we've seen what happens when there's a disconnect between Miles' style and his OC's. LSU is mortgaging the future on Miles, so let's find the best OC that complements Miles. In my opinion, that's Chryst.

Getting the Wisconsin O-line coach would not make me disappointed at all either.

I hope LSU gets someone else besides him. He is a ground and pound guy with play action and little to no creativity in what he does. I would prefer someone that is multiple.

make sure you pick a building with at least 10 stories

I don't know if I would have a "Top" candidate but I know the names that I would be happy to see at LSU and those names are:

Justin Fuente
Lincoln Riley
Doug Nussmeier
Steve Logan
Josh Heupel (probably won't leave OU)
Shannon Dawson (probably won't leave WV)
Norm Chow
Mark Helfrich
Neil Brown
Paul Petrino
Seth Littrell
Noel Mazzone
David Yost
Mike McCall
Garrick McGee

Helluva list Kunka. I think a main consideration for our next OC would be the abillity to coach and mentor QB's. it is very obvious that we hav enoboby on staff at the moment that can do this. Judging by the names I have seen thrown around, I believe Les realizes that too and is looking to correct that.

When Riley came back to Oregon State he was calling the plays, I'm not sure if he still does any longer but I know for quiet a while he did.

How do you know that? Are we assuming because he had a young inexperienced OC?

First of all, when do you actually anything of substance. The only substance you have to contribute is know by a one word name --- shite.

Anyway, Paul Chryst would be an absolute perfect fit for LSU. With the studs we have in the backfield, and the lack of a developed QB that we currently have, a run first offense is crucial to offensive success at LSU IMO. The play action pass (which both of our QBs from the past couple of seasons were able to execute decently well in the few times it was called) could then open up things for what will be a fairly young receiving corp. As the QBs and WRs develop, the passing game could then open up more...something the Chryst has shown he is willing to do when he has appropriate personnel. Not saying he would ever run a sling-it-out type of offense though.

And for those saying his offense won't work in the SEC. He runs essentially the same offense that won Bama the NC last year!!

When is the last time LSU wasn't a run first offense?

Didn't say there weren't a run first offense. The only reason we had the very modest success that we had on offense (yes, I know that is putting it as nicely as I can) was because of the run game. I was meaning that the next OC shouldn't be some one that has a history of abandoning the run game....like Leach was at TT.
