I'd like to see what Chryst did at other schools
"Chryst was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oregon State in 2003-04. He helped the Beavers rank No. 6 nationally in passing yardage per game (328.1). The 2003 Beavers became the first team in NCAA Division I history with a 4,000-yard passer, 1,500-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers."

You can be a fan of the "pro-style" and think that every other type of offense isn't as good, you're entitled to your view point. But failing to see that other types of offense's produce as good if not better results and win championships is just stupid.
I remember people saying Steve Spurrier's offense would never work in the SEC, they were all dead wrong.
I remember people saying Urban Meyer's offense would never work in the SEC, they were all dead wrong.
I remember people saying the Air Raid would never work in the SEC, they were all dead wrong.
I remember people saying that Gus Malzahn's offense wouldn't work in the SEC, they were all dead wrong.
I remember people saying that Florida State would never win a championship with their offense, boy were those people dead wrong.
It about time somebody understands this......

Lester, are you saying that the 2003 LSU offense was wide open because Mauck set a TD record? That LSU can't or won't have great defense again or that because Chryst ran 2 times for ever pass he threw at Wisky that he do the same at LSU?
Nope, It just wasn't this smash mouth running team either like Wisconsin had this year.
shoot, our running game was just average until Vincent burst on the scene.
we had 3 badass WRs as well and a good TE.
2007 we were a better running team.

No im saying we had the best D in the nation that year, and offensively we were balanced.
no hidden messages or anything.

Dude, we need to hire Chryst ASAP. This dude sounds like he means business. He was considering going to Texas about a month ago, so maybe he's willing to listen to some offers.

well they ran the ball 584 times on the year.
BTW, i looked over some numbers, in games vs Ohio St and Penn St(the only 2 defenses imo that field defenses comparable to SEC Teams) they averaged only 13 PPG in 7 games since 2005.

But in 2010 they beat OSU 31-18 (OSU was the #1 team in the country) Yes it seems they struggled against some better teams at times. But I look at the cupboard at Wisconsin and notice its never nearly as full as PSU or OSU. Chryst is no God-send, i get that. However, I do believe he has experience with both running and passing attacks. He obviously utilizes his talent well.
In 2005, they beat Auburn 24-10 (Auburn was 10-3 that year and LSU won in OT against Aub that year 20-17).
In 2006, they bea Ark 17-10 (Ark was 10-4 that year, LSU won 31-26)
In 2007 they lost to Tenn 21-17, (Tenn was 10-4 that year, LSU won 21-14)
I like the points you bring up. Wisc has played fairly well against the last few SEC teams they have played. There is alot that goes into scoring and yardage, especially in big games. Like most coaches, putting up big points against stiffer competition is much more difficult and isnt met with nearly the same level of success. But, I still think he would be a great hire.

Lastly, lets look at Wisconsin's best 2 games against top notch defense this year.
TCU 2010
#1 Defense in Country,
#1 in Pts allowed per game allowed avg 11 ppg
#1 in Yards allowed per game 215 ypg.
Wisc. scored 19 pts and racked up 385 yds.
Ohio State 2010
#2 Defense in Country
#3 in Pts allowed per game 13.5 ppg
#2 in Yards allowed per game 250 ypg
Wisconsin scored 31 pts and racked up 336 yards.

He was born in Madison. He isn't going anywhere for a lateral move.

Every stat you could want to know about Wisconsins offense....
LINK
left side lets you break each stat down however you want to see it (game by game, situational etc.)
Situational passing and running stats are pretty interesting for the number geeks.

24 points from the offense, since they had a KOR for TD

Chryst supposedly interviewed for the Minnesota job. I doubt he's leaving Wisconsin unless someone throws him a pile of money. I think he'll wait for a big ten job to become open and take that. He'd also be good for Notre Dame.
I'd love for LSU to have a punishing ground game with a pro-style offense. You win with running backs and big-play wide receivers and a good defense. Short and fast WRs don't make pro-bowls in the NFL and Tebow won't win in the NFL. Cutler will have the better and longer career than Tebow.
If you want the best players you have to tell them that LSU can develop them for the NFL by running a pro-style offense with a pounding running game and big strong offensive lines. A good running game is a QBs best friend.
Recruiting is about getting players to the NFL in all honesty. Sure they want to win for LSU, but they want the NFL more.

Wisconsin = 75th in pass offense.
top 10 in rushing..I think the HUGE line had a lot to do with it..more so than CREATIVE offense
