I don’t have any connections on the UF side, but I happen to know people plugged in at LSU. I heard that LSU and Ole Miss are confident they can counter UF’s counter offer.

There is no counter offer. It's over. Lane is coming

That $14.3 M/yr will make Lane the highest paid college football coach by a goodly margin.

It had to be a number like that in order to assuage any ego issues that might have popped up.

I have a feeling it won’t matter because his MOU will be signed before that.

Usually a MOU is signed at or near the start of the process before negotiations begin.

On top of that 90 Million dollar salary, LSU is also giving him 25 million annually in NIL lRoster money.

As Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss met Friday, confidence brewed in Baton Rouge: LSU is finalizing a near $90M+ offer to the coach - blessed by the governor - and $25M+ in annual roster cash in its most serious push to gain his commit, sources tell

It's Lane Kiffin and Jimmy Sexton. We won't know for sure until he's announced.

It’s done. They are already vetting asst coaches. Florida was most likely used as a bargaining chip.

Uh no. How do you have an MOU before the start of the process and before negotiations start? You have to have the negotiations so you know what actually goes into the MOU. An MOU is not a legally enforceable contract. It’s basically just an offer sheet that will spell out compensation that was agreed to between the parties, termination clauses and the agreed up liquidated damages.

Just for clarity, which team would be the “loser” in this deal? The team that lost Lane? Or the team that lost their minds with this insane contract for Lane Kiffin?

Yes but is it enough to fend off UF. That’s my primary concern and should be everybody else’s on this board now. They are making a push too
LSU has a solid base to go to the playoffs immediately and don't have to fight a ton of people for recruits in Florida. Why deal with that when you don't have to? We also have the transfer portal figured out with the right staff for it.
