I hate to join the band of negativity, but I find it hard to believe that Les will be able to secure any one of the good DCs out there that are currently unemployeed until after bowl season. This list included Koening ( already at K-State now I believe ), Chavis ( 2nd interview at Clemson? ), and Rhoades, off the top of my head. That just so happens to be the top 3 options imo as well, which really concerns me. I'm fearful we'll be 'stuck' with a crappy choice at DC, be it one of the Dumb & Dumber brothers we had this year, or some other second hand option from somewhere else.
Les takes a very conservative approach in these matters and it could very well bite him in the end if we miss out on a top DC when we very well could have had one, without poaching another school. Would be wonderful if he could lock in Rhoades and annouce it, so our defensive recruits would know they'd be working with a top notch DC at LSU.

I know this sounds negative, but based on what Miles has said and all of his "avoiding" everything, I don't think he is hiring anyone. Malvetto is here next year.

sometimes we have fricking idiots for fans, but what are ya gonna do?

The Advocate is late with their news huh? Oh and I predict they will hire the TCU DC as well. Its just a prediction but I have a feeling..

The Shreveport Times says Peveto is in the top 6 to be considered by NWLA HC. There is speculation that it is Peveto's job to turn down. The AD wants to have the announcement by Webb on the 19th. So, hold on and let's see what happens.

If so, then this board will be cranked up for the HEAD coaching search this time next year.

My guess is that if Miles gives us Mallory, then it won't take long for the for sale signs to crop up on the coaching lawn... But who knows, maybe Mallory is just what LSU needs. Not.
LSU needs Doug Mallory for DC about as much as you need Gonorrhea.

then how do you explain the interviews with Koenning, Chavis, Robinson, and a few others?

You better learn to start side stepping your stupid comments quicker. With the dumb shite you've posted, your qoing to be doing a good bit of it.

I just hate the fact that everyone wants to write off the bowl game like some insignificant event. I don't care to hear about the grand scheme of things or any of that bullshite, I'm just concerned with us winning the bowl game.

Just because announcements will not be made until after the game doesn't mean that things will not happen behind the scenes prior to the game. Do you really think that people haven't already been contacted? Why would the new coaches care if they come in before or after the game? If anything, I would think that they would want to wait until after. Maybe they have their own game to prepare for.

Wow! So you automatically exclude any and all currently employed DCs or DC candidates. No wonder you can't help but be negative.

Being contacted and willing to wait are two different circumstances. To really 'secure' a new DC is to hire a new DC.
As I said in my previous post, the top 3 imo are Rhoades, Chavis, and Koenning (sp?). Plus, its easier to hire someone currently with no job than to lure someone away from another job...

Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't understand all this stuff. He's pretty new to coaching and somehow stumbled into the LSU gig making $3.5 million.
Maybe you should explain it to him.
While I always appreciate a sarcastic, smart-arse remark, I have to ask...did you read the article? Les was avoiding discussing coaching changes b/c they're out recruiting and they have a GT game to prepare for. Well, recruiting I understand since we're sitting on a potential top 3 class...but he sure as hell seemed focused on the GT game. That doesn't make sense to me. Make a statement and right the ship. That's what leaders do. He will gain far more respect from the fans and his team if he does this sooner rather than later...regardless of the bowl outcome.

This bowl game means ZERO to the future of the program in the grand scheme.
So you're willing to sacrifice the future of the program as long as we win this meaningless bowl game ?

So you would prefer he take the easy road to satisfy your angst and anxiety (as well of a few hundred other panty wastes) rather than go after a better candidate? (I am not saying he has gone after someone better, but your argument leads me to believe that you think he won't and is only after someone currently unemployed.)
