That If is a big question. If he doesn't have immediate success at Arky, will he be looking to move again? If he has success, will that make him a hot commodity for other teams.

this whole thing doesn't make much sense for Petrino as far as a long term gig goes. How much time did he actually spend in Fayetteville before accepting the job? I guess he can hang out on the hill a few days, do a few pig sooies, and suddenly feel like hog heaven is home...but the whole situation reeks of a guy running away from a bitchy girlfriend straight into a relationship with someone else without knowing much about her other than she HAS to be better than the last one. How long does the honeymoon last? What does he do when he wakes up next to her one day realizing that her initially charming pig sooie chants grate on his nerves like the sound of nails on a chalkboard? Guess we'll see how it plays out.

He will Leave again...remember at Louisville he was courted by a team (I forgot which one) and almost took that job when The Louisville AD got sooooo pissed? The guy is no good and will jump ship for another school as soon as the money is shown to him.

But next year should be fun to watch!

He did that a couple of times. He talked to Auburn in 2003 about replacing Tuberville. I believe he also talked to another SEC school (LSU perhaps) after the 2005 season.

The icing on the cake is that Arthur Blank asked him Monday night about rumors of Arkansas courting him and and told Blank he would be back with the Falcons next year, then on Tuesday meets with McKay (Falcons' GM) and resigns, and has McKay call Blank on the phone to tell him.

If I was a coach recruiting against him, that would definately be ammo to try to sway a recruit away from Ark.

Petrino is over-rated. What exactly has he done as far as coaching? Go back and look at his record at Louisville. His wins were against teams most SEC schools schedule for easy out of conference play. He lost to most big name opponents and only beat those who were on a downslide. He's not what the media has made him out to be.

Arkansas should've taken their time and researched this better. They've made a huge mistake if you ask me.

All I know is that it will make the Auburn/Arkansas game a bit more interesting this fall.

Think Tuber is relishing at the chance to crush his arse next year?

In private I am sure he is.

If Auburn beats Ark next year, I would love to hear what Tuberville has to say to Petrino when they meet at midfield after the game. I am sure it will be subtle, but a dig nonetheless.

Petrino has signed 20 years worth of coaching contracts in the past 18 months or so.

After he fails at Arkansas, I think his signing days will be over.

I for one, am very happy for Ark. I have never held any true animosity for them, and was disapointed for them with the whole Mustaine debacle - Looked like they had a potential conference champ the next few years. Good hire, and good luck. SUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE PIG!

Price of pork has gone way up!

PS - Slow-hi-o state, this is a family affair, so go fornicate with yourself.

Pat Forde Article

Here is an article by Pat Forde slamming Petrino unmercifully. FYI, Forde probably knows Petrino better than most...he was a reporter for the Journal-Courier in Louisville before going to ESPN.

O is just sore still from what Florida did to 'em last year and what LSU is getting ready to do to 'em this year.

I for one will get entirely too much satsifaction out of watching Ohio State get steamrolled two years in a row by the SEC!!

Best conference. Best coaches. Best players. Best fans. Best facilities.

And one big stingin belt to whip that arse with.

Petrino will have to learn how to recruit again to have a shot at being anywhere near the top 3 in the SEC west.

Thats why Nutt had us in the top 3 seven of ten seasons??

If Nutt could recruit top 3 in the West teams, Petrino will be just fine.

Top 3 like you have a lock spot. You act as if LSU has some long standing top 3 in the West status......

Check the record. LSU mediocrity is only a couple pages back.

ie the 90's.

I have a friend who is an LSU fan and he was telling me about how excited he was to go to go to the Toilet Bowl.

1990 5-6
1991 5-6
1992 2-9
1993 5-6
1994 4-7
1995 7-4-1
1996 10-2 (Actually beat Clemson in the Peach Bowl!)
1997 9-3
1998 4-7
1999 3-8

Fortunately for LSU, they have rebounded from that but do not think it could not happen again, odds are it will at some point.
