Hopefully I can stop plane watching.

You will know by Saturday if you read TT contract. He has until Saturday to extend any kind of contract or change anything at Auburn. If you dont hear about it before Saturday then pay attention to the Auburn sites and if there is no deal the I would say Tubbs is gone.

True... and the new TAMU/Arky series at the new Cowboys stadium might help with the Texas recruiting.
I've got a friend who is a longhorn fan that "Hates" Arky for leaving the SWC and was pissed when TX scheduled the home and home two years ago. He's pissed about the aTm series and says that Arky wanted to leave the SWC, we should never let them back in Texas to recruit anyone. He's what you might call passionant about it.

Well ol Clyde WAS coming until KY called and he understandably chose KY.... I'm not saying Tubby won't do the same.

Sorry to burst your bubble but OK State has a billionaire who has made a commitment to build them the best facilities out there too. How is OK State doing?
Posted on 11/29/07 at 8:55 pm to Suntiger
nutt is 2-1 against texas and should be 3-0.

Odd with all these great facilities, the BEST in the nation according to you, you still suck.
Posted on 11/29/07 at 9:02 pm to JVTiger
I've been hearing that "best facilities in the nation" shite for years. Ole Miss tells people the same crap.
Posted on 11/29/07 at 9:03 pm to Tigerark
I've never said THE best but they are comparable

Tigerark I understand Billionaires can not MAKE you a winner (OSU).
My point was that anyone that lives under the assumption that a move from AU to UA is a step down is mistaking.
If you branch out beyond football, AU can not even begin to compare in athletic success.
But, lets stick to football. Arkansas is the only show in the state. They do not split recruits with anyone. They have money, support, and facilities to die for. With a mediocre coach Arkansas has managed to go to 8 bowls in 10 years, win the west 3 times, and put up so so numbers with great talent.
A great coach would be a major boost for an already stable program with amazing assets.

I'm not saying it isn't true, but word out of the Auburn athletics department as of tonight is that the administration has not been contacted for permission to talk directly with Tuberville.
From Phillip Marshall of the Huntsville Times:
Also, Birmingham News is downplayng the reports of a done deal:
From Phillip Marshall of the Huntsville Times:

If Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville is on the verge of being named Arkansas' head coach, as reported by numerous outlets in Arkansas, it's news to Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs.
"I have not been contacted," Jacobs told The Huntsville Times on Thursday night. "If that were true, with the kind of leadership they have, I feel certain I would be."
Also, Birmingham News is downplayng the reports of a done deal:
quote:
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said Thursday he's not going to rush through his negotiations with university officials toward a new contract despite ``a sense of urgency outside in the public eye, but contracts take forever.''
Tuberville also told his weekly Tiger Talk radio audience that ``I'm not looking to go anywhere.''
The taped interview came as various Arkansas media outlets reported Thursday night that Tuberville is on the verge of signing a contract with the Razorbacks. A source who talked to Tuberville on Thursday evening denied the reports.

Arkansas has some people who can write that check without thinking twice
Where does that money actually come from? Wal-Mart and Tyson are public right?

Hate to tell you AU fan but your boy is in Arkansas duck hunting with a member of the Board of Trustees and UA football power broker.
Too much smoke here.

The money comes from several outlets.
The Walton family, 4 of the top 10 wealthiest people in the US, calls NWA home and write checks on request.
Don Tyson owns the worlds largest chicken company and is a member of the U of A Board of Trustees.
Above and beyond that, Jerry Jones dumps money in the program along with various others.

I agree, i've always thought Arkansas had a ton of potential, being the only show in town and in a fast growing area counts for alot, i hope this works out for yall as bad as last Friday was.
