There's a new law that takes effect in January that requires a payroll deduction for long term care, whether you want it or not and you can't opt out. Everyone with a W2 is affected. $58 for every $10,000 you earn IIRC.

This is certain to be torpedoed by the voters via an Eyman initiative.

Supreme Court already killed any future "Eyman Initiatives" last year.

UW coaches typically live across the lake from Seattle, away from the commies. Neuheisel’s kids would have attended football powerhouse Bellevue H.S. Don James lived in Kirkland

The problem is bigger than just Seattle though. As long as Dow Constantine continues to run amok in King County, fixing Seattle isn't enough.

Think about it, all things being equal, your quality of life in the Pacific Nortwest beats the shite out of your quality of life in Baton Rouge. If the money is equal why not opt for a temperate climate, superior scenery and the intangibles....it is not just football they take into consideration. Schools are better for your kids, etc. Maybe you don't want the hot humid weather.....maybe you like the outdoor life. If I were a high profile coach I would seriously consider Washington or USC. The skill talent in So Cal is pretty damn good.

I know a lot of people in Seattle and they all hate it. The weather and liberalism are horrible.

I guess I’ll phrase it in a way that’s specific enough for your dumb arse to understand: the vast, vast majority of college coaches who legitimately had the option wouldn’t choose Washington over both USC and LSU for a hundred reasons, including existing talent, better pay, recruiting base, commitment to football, facilities, higher spending on assistant coaches, better boosters, better NIL support, lack of free time to enjoy whatever marginally better outdoor activities are in Washington, program history, and job prestige, to the point that the amount of coaches who would actually make that decision are statistically insignificant.

You think USC has better facilities and commitment to football than Washington? Do you think Washington is poor, and can’t compete $ wise with USC or LSU, despite all the Microsoft/Amazon money? Has either USC or LSU led the nation in football revenue? Washington has.

Have you been to Seattle? The weather sucks up there. It rains 10 months out of the year. It is beautiful when the weather is good but that does not happen often.

No, they did not. The struck down the car tab initiative just like they did in 90’s. Sure, it was an activist move, as many lefty initiatives fail the same test, but if written correctly, the long term care scam will be canceled by the voters. I except the margin of victory will be so large that it will force the legislature to repeal it if the Supreme Court smacks it down ( just like the original Eyman car tab initiative).

The weather only sucks during the winter. We have the best summer weather in the country. We went almost three months this summer without measurable precipitation.

Washington has a VERY delusional fanbase. They see themselves as a west coast power that is only maybe surpassed by USC, and only maybe

To be fair, they had been a west coast power for decades, arguably only second to USC. Oregon's success has been relatively recent, and coincided with Washington's decline.

Washington is a great job, and the right hire can win big there. Jim Owens was an Oklahoma guy, and Don James was an Ohio guy, and they each won national championships there. Neuheisel had an argument to be in the national championship game in 2000. Petersen had them in the playoff by his 3rd year. They have the facilities and fan support.

Do I believe LSU and USC are ultimately better jobs? Yes. But I wouldn't underestimate their ability to attract a big name coach.

People will believe what they want about Seattle. If someone hasn’t been here or lived at a minimum one year, not worth responding to.

I’m originally from New Orleans. Went to school at Brother Martin then off to LSU, then Texas for grad school. I’ve lived in the Bay or Seattle for 21 years now, with Mercer Island being 16 of those years.

I love Seattle. Seattle and the Eastside have few similarities.

Udub has boatloads of money. Nothing surprises me with what the university is capable of.

Jimmy is gone, per a couple of giant donors I work with. As for who’s next? I’m not sure.

There’s not a coach on earth who has fricking Washington higher than LSU and USC. Maybe LSU, maybe USC, but absolutely not both.

The only name that may make sense for this would be Peterson. There has been rumors of him wanting back in.

It sure didn't feel like that this past summer when it got up to 111 at one point.

My guess, a long shot, is Matt Campbell. The last Massillon, OH native UW hired was Don James. I no longer have inside knowledge, so no clue of where they are looking. The media is trying to fluff up Justin Wilcox, but the fan base will not be happy. I’m not anti-Wilcox, because it seems he is always trying to land the top assistants which is a good indicator of a quality CEO.

That was due to global warming. We had 5 straight days of 110+ degrees. Also, in the last winter several inches of snow in the city. Both of these occurrences are not the norm I assure you.

November to March is the rain time. Feel free to google actual accumulation of the city compared to most cities. It might surprise you. Again, believe what you want.

If they are from California or from Louisiana but voted for John Bel Edwards, it rains 10 maybe 11 months of the year. Gloomy, non stop. If you are a Reagan Californian or a non-Dumb Bel/Cassidy voter, then look up our actual weather stats, and please move here if you agree.

Honestly, people that live in this area find it comical that most think it rains all the time here. If you take Capital Hill out of Seattle, you’d be hard pressed to beat it.

I’ve lived all over the West Coast. Seattle is an absolute gorgeous area that is very hard to beat in the summer months. Even so, I absolutely hope people continue to believe what they will. The ones that refuse to research probably wouldn’t make it long here regardless.

I’m a Louisiana born 48 year old man. I love the state, I bleed the real purple and gold of the Boot, but no amount of money will pull me away.

If I had to live in Seattle, Upper West Queen Anne is where I’m going.

The biggest problem is Sawant, Satterberg, Constantine, Inslee, Ferguson, Mosqueta, Herbold, Jayapal and the other dipshits here (I'm including that fricking moron chair of the Republican Party that Rantz keeps giving airtime to)

Full disclosure, I live in Lacey and take the Sounder to and from work.

I may be a Texan, but in 3 years, Washington will be the place I've lived the longest.

What do you think of Brandi Kruze quitting this past week?
