Unfortunately, it's probably baseless. Nix is gone almost certainly.

I wonder how the Arkansas fans will accept him when he returns to Little Rock... I bet he will be looked at in a much better way by Hog fans in a few years if he really does retire (I doubt he really cares what the Rebears fans think of him).

Arkansas passed a resolution three years ago to become a Nutt-free state. That sorry bastard can keep his arse out of Arkansas.

I'm not saying they did a great job, just okay considering the situation with the freshmen oline & little talent at WR.

Hatfield is a good person, time healed those wounds.

Nutt would be better of to move the tribe, again, to Stillwater...

I know. I was just pointing that out because I have heard countless times recently that they have had a great offense all season and it's the defenses fault when in fact it's on both units. In SEC games, outside of the Arkansas and LSU games, their offense has pretty much looked like shite.

I highly doubt you'll get lucky enough for Nutt to leave. Rader is most likely gone and maybe Nix. You won't get rid of any of the MSM. Don't be to surprised if rumours of other programs calling surface and he gets a contract extension.

Hatfield left on how own accord and he didn't wage a scorched earth campaign against Arkansas like Nutt did to keep his job. Nutt is the only previous coach not welcomed back and rightfully so.

McCready saying he's hearing the Mullen to Da U rumors flying right now.

There is clearly going to be plenty of changes to the OM staff, whether Nutt stays on board or not.

His timing of when he left and his decision to quit recruiting years prior is largely the reason for our perception as a program in the SEC...

Can we now all agree that the upset, won one he should not have for Nutt this year was Kentucky?

I've been saying this for a while now...

Maybe if he left after 2004. Considering the fiasco that precipitated his fall, the depth of the hatred for Nutt is such in Arkansas that his brothers-- one of whom coached for a different state institution-- were lustily booed just because they held the Nutt name. Heck, his brother who was coaching a rent-a-win brought in for a basketball exhibition was mercilessly mocked and taunted about Houston this past week.

It's incredibly bitter. For many fans, particularly younger ones, it's going to stay with them for as long as Nutt lives.

I don't really see why firing him or Nix is worth the cryptic response that Nutt gave. Assistants come and go every year. It's not like reading about Nix being canned would come as a complete shock to the players, nor would it illicit a confused response. They wouldn't need to hear it from Nutt first.
