And amazingly, in 2 years he's got as many wins as Coach O.

Herman loses to Navy and Memphis and he's the Messiah. Orgeron loses to Florida and Bama, both SEC division champs, and he's the devil.

you could attribute about 90% of Miles losses were due to incompetent in-game coaching.

in game adjustments
time management
playing the wrong personnel

Let's not pretend it would take a brain surgeon to improve on Les Miles' negative tendencies

it was your silly reasoning, mate

we can both accept O will recruit well (we have evidence of this)

we should also both accept that O might not win 9 games per year (we have evidence of this)

If by circle jerk, you mean a recitation of indisputable fact, then yes. And here are those facts:

The facts are that O was the worst coach in Ole Miss history, that he went 3-21 in the SEC (worse than Hallman), his record in his last year at Ole Miss was worse than his record in his first season, he has never won a championship of any sort, he has never even coached in a bowl game, he lost to both of the good teams he faced this year, he isn't a defensive or offensive specialist, he isn't noted for any special tactical prowess, he's never been a successful coordinator, and no other P5 school has shown the slightest serious interest in hiring him since his disastrous tenure at OM.

Now you respond with facts indicating O will win a title.

not going to act totally blind to that, but turning around Ole Miss has no parallells to the spot he is in now

they were a good bit better right before and right after him

Cut is clearly a better coach. he just got screwed (by the "recruiting first!" types) then had heart issues

Houston fricking Nutt did better than O immediately after, and Freeze has done better than both

The goal line play calling at the end of the Florida game should have been a bunch of red flags to people

Guice runs the correct play, does he not score?

Guice doesn't fumble, is it still a game?

Kicker missed FGs.

Player errors. Not the coaches. Shouldn't have been a game. Blaming a coach when players are BLATANTLY making those type of errors is ridiculous. I'll never change my stance on that.

Of course it doesn't, but it's a reason for major concern, no?

Doesn't matter. Does it?

If Guice runs the correct play, does he score?

but we're talking Xs and Os

yeah Miles was Miles. me of all people will say that

but O is worse. hell even this year, just look at the UF/Bama games. with all this "changing everything!" shite we still didn't do jack shite against them offensively. now O is responsible for building a system/philosophy to beat them every year

A coach shouldn't see to it that Guice gets in the huddle and listens to the play call? A coach shouldn't let injured players decide they are playing due to pre game brawls?

I worry about minor things like letting LF play because UF players talked shite
UF players talk shite bc one of our guys gets in the middle of their pregame drills (we then proceed to lose to those guys without like 10-12 of their starters)
Basically jocking all Carroll's motivational quirks from USC

In game shite had traces of Les...unorganized out of timeouts, burning two timeouts vs bama in the first few mins of the second half.
The fb dive in short yardage, toss dive
Some of that is on Ensminger and I know we'll actually finally be changing on offense but in some of those situations just hand it to 5 or 7.

I just think we whiffed big because Alleva/admin wasn't willing to do what it took to get OUR GUY. Whether that was Jimbo or Tom, it just feels like we're settling as we sit at a major crossroads. With the struggles this program has been mired in offensively its just tough to sell a lot of fans on promoting your embattled ex coach's DLine coach. If O was from ohio or North Carolina Alleva would have laughed and tossed hos resume in the trash.

You still had a glimpse into his deficiencies this season

He has already allowed a star player to have say over his playing time when he was injured.

The culture where mistakes during the course of a game that was prevalent under Miles was still prevalent under O.

And yeah, Derrius Guice only getting 2 carries against Bama under his watch is still absolutely unforgivable.

You do realize that teaching players the poise, discipline, and technique necessary to consistently perform under pressure is a major part of being a head coach, right? Jesus.

Whose fault is it that the players don't know the right play coming out of a timeout?
