But that was only because he had Skattebo and played in a weak conference, right?

I've actually been defending the Big XII as my favorite conference for years.

Who would you rather have then, besides Kiffin?

My preference has always been someone who has demonstrated they can sustain success. That obviously doesn't make them a sure thing, but the risk is lower.

The list of "young, home run" hires who crash and burn after early success or one great season is extensive. Herman and Frost are some recent high-profile examples.

I don't even dislike Dillingham, but like S said a few weeks ago, I'm not sure he has the "minerals" for the LSU job. It just feels like we'd be stuck hovering between 7-6 and 10-3 with him.

If you can't get Saban (obviously not) or Lane (likely not), then he's my next favorite choice.

We don’t need to worry about salary vs. NIL. NIL money will always be there regardless at a program like LSU. If you’re Ole Miss or a smaller program, that is a much bigger concern.

We need to worry about making sure we are getting the right coach regardless of if we’re paying this guy $30M a year or $100K a year.

I’d still rather Kiffin, but if he says no, Dillingham should certainly be the next call.

Kiffin has already coached in the NFL, and been there done that. Dillingham is only 35 and if he succeeds here, the NFL will definitely come calling.

I think Kiffin wants to stay in college. Maybe Dillingham has that desire to move up to the pros.

True. But that was a long 18 years ago and a much different Kiffin. He may want another shot at some point to redeem himself at that level. I'm not saying the NFL would never come calling for Dilly. But he really doesn't have any NFL connections as he's been a 100% college coach and never held any coaching positions in the NFL.

I attended this game. Drove an RV in thinking we’re going to get on campus and throw down!!! RV lot didn’t even open until like 9am on game day.

Me and my brother were walking around campus earlier in the day. Pretty dead atmosphere. Of course we’re wearing LSU garb as a car of college aged kids approaches us and yells out the window “Shaq sucks”. Thought that was funny.
