You googled and listed what 6 or 7 made up "reported" salaries and now realize how dumb you look. Might as well offer 2 mill more than x coach and 3 mill more than y coach. I just googled it.

Exactly. I listed THE VERY FEW COACHES that make that kind of money IN ALL OF FOOTBALL, period. If we are offering that kind of money...12 mil a year. We should be going after the biggest of the biggest fish. Maximus is a frickin retard. He apparently thinks nfl head coaches make 20 mil a year...frickin tool.

Most nfl salaries are known and i provided a link for it. The top 6 jobs or so are "estimated"...with damn strong insight from people that do know that type of shite, might i say...but come on, what do you think theyre gonna pay a coach? Double the market value? Get real. 12 million a year would put LSUs next head coach competing for the highest paid coach in all of football and thats not debatable.

$12 mil is Saban money…and Bama would match.

I like Riley, but he ain’t worth $12 mil. Yet.

The Woodward way is to overpay the market and then proclaim how we got the best coach in the country that was worth every penny.

Coaches say what the fans want to hear. O convinced the fan base and half this board LSU was his dream job. In two years after his last check from LSU clears, he’ll be shite talking and recruiting against us like he was before arriving at LSU. Coaches are loyal to their egos and wallets.

A) He was completely unqualified for the job, based on what people on this board think our HC should be.

B) That’s pretty much the same speech Napier is going to make when he takes this job.

He’s not leaving OU. He has unfinished business there.

Will never happen. Riley's buyout is 25 million dollars

I would make them match it. There’s no negative to making them spend more.

If his buyout is really 25 million then he’s not the guy.

You got a source on that? Like a real link. Best I could find was speculation that it's ~20% of his remaining salary thru end of contract because those were the terms of his previous contract. Which by way of math is roughly $8 million.

quote:

Buyout terms weren’t revealed Tuesday, but under his previous contract, Riley had to pay 22.5 percent of remaining guaranteed compensation within 60 days if he left for another job

The Athletic best clearest I could find.

I don't think it's Riley. He has a 25MM buyout.

Riley also has a $25.2 million buyout as of Dec. 1, a figure that ranks behind Fisher ($95.6 million), Swinney ($47.5 million), Saban ($38.4 million), Day ($28.4 million), Indiana’s Tom Allen ($30 million) and Iowa State’s Matt Campbell ($28.3 million).
