This is shaping up as a situation where he stays. If he was leaving he should have left last week. This has only hurt both teams.
If he stays then he wont be considered for an elite position again for a while.
Lots of bridges have been burned on both sides no matter the outcome.
Ole Miss should have said sign the extension or leave. Having him coach this game has made things extremely complicated.

He wants to come to LSU. He’s angling to try and continue coaching his playoff team.

Which means he isn’t certain, because LSU is not gonna let him keep coaching without a decision in blood (without moving on) and Ole Miss is not gonna let him coach unless he says he is staying.

You heard that from Lane? Nah, you didn’t. He’ll announce his plans when he’s ready. Calm down. Let him exit in a way that he’s comfortable. He’s built something there and this is by no means easy. It’s NOT just about him and you should respect his caring of his players and coaches. He would be a total arse if he didn’t.
