Do you know what coping is? Coping is acting like you got your first choice after 3 others came out and said they weren't interested.

You're right, I'm sure they were never contacted. Kalen DeBoer was the number one choice this whole time.
I called this cope the moment that Lanning came out and said he wasn't interested.

No but many, many, many of their high level people do or did.
Short story, there is a lot more money in Seattle available to put into Coach salaries and NIL than in Tuscaloosa.
Agreed, there is a lot of money in Seattle, but not necessarily to support sports or coaching salaries.
In the recent past Seattle has lost a pro basketball team, UW have had multiple HC football coaches poached (Sarkisian and now DeBoer), and Paul Allen had to step up to save several professional franchises for Seattle.
ETA: The links below are for UW and LSU 2022 NCAA Financial Reporting. Looks like UW ran a deficit of $4 million with a $15 million contribution from the school (see Item #4) with outside contributions of $28 million (see Item #8).
UW 2022 NCAA Financial Statement
Conversely, LSU ran a surplus of $5 million with $0 contribution from the school (see Item #4) and outside contributions of $73 million (see Item #8).
LSU 2022 NCAA Financial
Could not find the 2022 Alabama Financial report, but do know that they had $18 million surplus on over $200 million of revenue.
UW athletics is just not in the same world as the SEC.
