It's an unreal creative & balanced attack:

-Pitt had 2700 yds rushing and 2,600 yds passing.
-42 points per game.
-82% red zone efficiency
-11 Tds in one game.
-Play designs are so creative and diverse/multiple, it's hard to sack the QB. They only gave up 9 sacks all year.

Yep, he was my #1 choice, but wtf do I know.

One nice win and another high scoring game against Syracuse that got out of hand.

Look closer. They beat #5 Penn St. and #2 Clemson. That's 2 huge wins. Does LSU have any of those skins on the wall....in the last 3 years?

This is not an endorsement, but stop downplaying the man's accomplishments. That's tough to do with a team that is probably well behind those two programs in recruiting.

He wasn't fired because he wasn't good. He did not see eye to eye with the HC and their offense regressed a lot after he left.

I'm sure it was that simple. They didn't see eye to eye so he got fired.

Not saying he's better than Kiffin but I didn't want Kiffin because he most likely would have only stayed 1 year. I'd be happy with Canada or Helfrich. Dream scenario would be Briles but the rape stuff is just too much of a black eye.

Add to that Kiffin is a douche, and I agree with all of this.

Are people that stupid to look at passing yards per game alone and say this would be a shitty OC to get?

Yes. 100% they are. Go read that thread dedicated to one or two rankings with no frame of reference.

The only offensive coordinator that was a finalist for the Boyles award.....and there are people who think this is a bad hire????

Averaging over 40 points per game with Pitt athletes.

You just can't make some people happy

Not exactly. They had 8 NOTs. Quadree Henderson alone had 4 or 5 kick return TDs. Probably closer to 37-38 ppg...still impressive.

My problem is that when Orgeron was hired I was told that we would be able to hire the best, not one of the best, but the best OC in the country. Especially with all the money we would be saving by hiring a HC from the Dollar General.
