re: Why can’t Fickell announce he’s going to be LSU’s coach but finish season for Cincy?

did he though?
Cinci went 7-6 and 4-8 the two years before he took over. He’s not the first coach to have success there in recent history but he wasn’t handed the keys to a Ferrari like Lincoln Riley.

And Tulane went 12-0. The program remains the sameish

Because he doesn’t want to coach for us; like the others that have already passed. SW got owned .

If Cincinnati makes the playoff, Fickell won't be the LSU coach unless Woodward is willing to wait until after Cincinnati is eliminated, and no announcement will be made before then.
Do people not understand how many years coaches work for, and dream about taking a team to something like the playoff? Very few coaches ever get thare.
If Woodward made an announcement and caused problems with the Cincinnati team, he would be the last person Fickell would ever choose to work for.

Playoffs. No way we wait til January.
Idiot we wouldn't wait until then.
We would announce after next week's game and we would allow him to coach in the playoffs.

Because he's not going to be the next LSU HC.

If it’s Fickell then Scott would have only signed him to announce no later than next Monday. He’s not losing a recruiting class.

College football is played by 18-22 year old kids, a sport where coaches ask players to trust them and ask them to run thru walls for them
They can still win their bowl game and get their ring. None of that is stopping them.
Another coach will come in and ask the same things of them and teach the same morals and principles.
They are not 4 year olds learning about their parent's divorce..
They are 20 year old D1 athletes, some with kids themselves.
They know it's a business.

The question is moot, as Woody thought he had Riley.
In today's game, there is no waiting.

It's mind boggling that some of you people have absolutely zero clue about the relationships and dynamics of a team and coaching staff trying to accomplish a lifelong dream. They've worked for this opportunity their entire lives and Fickell is going to allow Woodward to possibly wreck it?
Incredible. Just incredible.

If you're right, it won't be Fickell. If Cincinnati makes the playoff, there is absolutely no chance an announcement would be made before Cincinnati is eliminated. None. If Woodward did that, no coach would ever trust him, and Fickell definitely wouldn't work for him.

You clearly never played for any kind of a championship, nor do you know a single thing about team relationships.
