Gainesville is an absolute shite hole. Worst city/town in the SEC bar none. Worse even than College Station.

Based on what.

Lmao, I knew you'd pull that article. That's active players as of 2024. You're looking at a snapshot of literally a single year.

Also, that data is derived from place of birth, which in no way reflects the capabilities of state high school football programs to develop NFL worthy talent.

Are a bunch of kids moving to Louisiana to play high school sports? Isn't the state losing population?

LSU and UF have both shown the ability to win the SEC and national titles. Both have passionate fanbases and amazing stadiums/facilities. Athletics revenue is above $200 million at each school. Both schools know when to get rid of coaches and have very high expectations. They are top tier programs.

I would give the slight edge to LSU because 3/4 of their most recent head coaches won national championships and UF is coming off its worst head coach since WWII. But they both are top tier jobs.

Yeah, UF is a great job. I married into a UF family, so I'm pretty well versed on the situation. I'm in no way saying that the two are worlds apart. In fact, there are a lot of aspects which make UF more appealable to recruits. Personally, I think the institutional support and the ability to lock down the recruiting in the state of Louisiana are what tip LSU. But that's probably just me being a homer. With NIL, locking down the state may mean absolutely nothing anymore, honestly.

And you don’t think Baton Rouge isn’t. If you go anywhere north of LSU you better be packing

I'm about to get fat as hell on these downvotes, but...

Gainesville, though truly a hole of shite, is less shitty than BR.
