Any team that joins the Big 12-2 has to be insane!
Tx is a bigger prima donna than OSU,USC, ND and BAMA combined.

So you think adding two more teams wouldnt cause that money to be divided up any differently? You think they are going to print an extra 34-40 million dollars?
So you think the network would not pay any extra for 2 more teams with large followings? I don't know if LSU and Ark are worth an extra 30-40M but I do know they are worth more than zero.

I wouldn't do it for a billion dollars. I haven't forgotten what it's like. I never missed that bullshite and never will.

Yes you would or you are a moron
No doubt Texas is the big bully (Bama is the bully in the SEC), remember where the first couple of SEC games were held? Know why we have permanent opponents from the other division? At first we had 2 permanent opponents, because that Bama-Vandy rivalry was too special to part with. Every league probably has that to some extent.
It would seem unlikely and stupid, especially for LSU, but all options should at least be considered.

Sounds good to me.
1. LSU-A&M is a natural rivalry with a lot of potential nationally. A good counter to TX-OU.
2. Big 12 will show you the money if Arkansas comes too.
3. Opens the door even more to Texas for UA and LSU recruiting here.
What's not to like? Come on over y'all!
Seriously though, it's a shame #1 isn't happening. Doubt it will anytime soon with A&M and Arky locked up together.

One of my old professors at LSU and now friend told me that SEC academic standards were way below Big 12/10 standards. Alabama's academic standards are even lower than most. It is probably one of the reason they are so successful. LSU is somewhere around 400 in the academic rankings. That wouldn't fit well in the Big XX.

No I wouldn't. The reason is that there would be no returning to the SEC.

if you were a school offical and turned down 1 billion you should be fired immediately, since 1B is not feasible its a moot point.

Always love to play you guys OOC. Seriously, I would be a 100% Ole Miss fan if Arkansas joined that conference. Sorry.

In reality, there are actually people in Arkansas who would more than likely donate the university more than 1B to NOT be/act an idiot.

then you are not an Arkansas fan anyway.
LSU could join the Sunbelt or WAC and I'd still love LSU

You haven't been a fan/member of an all-Tex conference, so forget that argument. It doesn't have legs in THIS corner. Ole Miss would be my default setting ONLY if Arkansas left. It has absolutely nothing to do with Hootie either.
Just like in the great words spoken by George W. Bush: "Fool me once and it your fault, fool me twice... Well, we're just not gonna be fooled, OK?"

No they aren't. They are around 100 which isn't bad considering the horrible state support there is for LSU. With LSU now having the ability to raise tuition they will move up higher soon.
I think this is stupid, but it would devastate the SEC. Arkansas and LSU are by far the best track and field schools in the conference. LSU also is the most well rounded school in the bigger athletic sports (UF is the only comparable school). LSU and Arkansas could really leverage the SEC into possibly moving the SEC offices and forcing them to rotate the SECCG and tourneys.
The biggest reason it would be stupid for them to leave is I could see the Big 12 falling a part in the future anyways. I am not sure the SEC would ever take them back.

If LSU and Arkansas joined the Big 12 it would change things enough to get a TV contract more palatable for all teams. From a $$ standpoint I think it could hold it's own with SEC and Pac-10. Big 10 is always going to lead the $$ game.
It's the animosity that would wear the conference out though. There is no love-in in the Big 12 like in the SEC. That would be even more evident with LSU and Ark. on board.

which explains why loadholdt couldn't qualify at LSU and went to OU instead

Respect would be a more accurate term because we in the SEC give one another hell all the time.
