This has nothing to do with Pitt. It has everything to do with Notre Dame. The Irish are in the Big East for all sports save football, bu if the Big East is destabilized it might force the Irish to join a conference. I think the gambit will fail for a lot of reasons, namely that Pitt can't be that stupid.

All nine schools are west of the Mississippi. Pitt is a terrible geographic fit.
Pitt should go to the ACC--good basketball program, and it gives the ACC a presence in Pennsylvania. The B16 Ten already has their in-state big brother.

ND will be forced to join a conference whether they want to or not as soon as the superconferences start forming... they will no longer have that crap AQ status

Arky is closer to 5 B12 schools than it is to 1 SEC school...Beebe should roll out the carpet and siphon the pigz away.

Arkansas is closer to more Big XII schools than A&M is.
We're closer to 3, they are closer to 6.
