A number of clubs are pushing for a Premier League shutdown until the new year amid the growing coronavirus crisis, sources have told @RobDawsonESPN.

Sounds like the perfect time to institute a winter break like the bundesliga does.

I hope they at least get this weekend’s games in and the CarabGOAT too. Maybe take a week off and push the fa cup dates back a week or two

Damnit. The Festive period in the PL is one of the greatest parts about the league. Will suck if there are just no matches the rest of the month.

Boxing Day may be my favorite day of the year.

With all this time off I'm about to have and no PL... I don't know what I'll do.

What exactly will have changed by the new year?

Yep what is actually going to change?? We either learn to live with this minimally lethal virus or we all go live in a bubble. If you are worried don't go to the games don't play sports. If you want to live then let's live and enjoy sports and competition. If you are scared to live, then go wear your mask in your house.

I still laugh thinking about New York declaring a state of emergency before we even had a case in this country of the weak arse omicron variant.

The West Ham-Norwich game has already been PP.

Honestly, from what I saw there were many WHU fans there were actually glad to see at least one game PP'd. Betwen the injuries to the defense and the jam packed schedule with Europe and Carab. obligations, I think most Hammer supporters are glad to see their team get a break.
