This year I'm rolling with 2 entries into the Mayo Cup and 2 entries into the Carbon Contests OADs. You can sign up via these links:

Fantasy Golf Championships
Carbon Cup OAD

For betting I will stick mainly to outrights, at least until I nail a winner, then I'll look to some Round Leader and In-Play action. Here's what I got for this week in Kapalua.

Sentry TOC
Xander
Reed
Brooks
Gooch
Champ
Higgo

Good luck this season to all you golf betting degens!

In the Carbon Contests OAD. Also signed up for the Jones bracket in the Carbon Cup. It's a cool way to play DFS on DK every week.

I don't have any bets this week. Waiting for legalized online betting in Louisiana so I don't have to deal with offshore stuff anymore. Hopefully not too much longer.

Did anyone else watch today? I was flipping back and forth between this and football.

Hideki begins the day two back of the lead and shoots a -3 front 9 only to find himself down 5 at the turn.. because Henley shot a 29.

He chipped away at the lead and birdied 18 to tie it while Henley missed his birdie from about 8’ which would have sealed it.

Then Hideki does this from 277 out in the sudden death playoff

40/1 Reed is too tempting. He has won this thing before.

Sunday was incredible to watch. That 3 wood on 18 was probably the best shot I’ve seen since CM took driver on 18 at Harding Park on Sunday.

Can somebody explain what's going on with the grass? Do they resurface the fairways and first cut just for this tournament and assume it's going to die soon after like the rest of the rough?

Winter rye grass. They overseed it for the winter. Most early year tournaments have this. Most courses will do the fairways and greens and the rough “does”.

I'm mainly leaning on recent performance at The Farmers, but also mixing in some gut feel and stats I like.

Added Lanto Griffin to complete my card. Remember, the tournament starts tomorrow! Get those one and done picks in today.

And another one!

80/1 pre tourney ticket and double tapped during round 1 for another 100/1 ticket.

That back 9 was intense. Poor Will. That putt on 18 is going to torture him until he wins.

When Will figures out the short putts he's gonna be trouble.

These odds are trash as usual. I was quick to bet Berger at 18/1 last year after DJ pulled out of the event and it worked out nicely, but I think I'm going to stick to the bottom half of the board this year. I will try to catch some good numbers on the legit guys during live in-play.

I'm sticking to my same strategy as last week.

Pebble Beach
Knox 50/1
Reavie 100/1
NeSmith 100/1
Merritt 100/1
Perez 500/1

Another exciting finish yesterday! Merritt had the lead for a moment on Sunday and gave me some false hope for a second there. Hoge was definitely on my radar and was popping in the models, yet I passed on him pre-tourney. That said, I was able to snag a live double bet on Saturday to end the week with some nice profit.

I will for sure be adding more to this card but these are the two outrights I've got locked in so far:

WMPO
Conners 50/1
List 60/1

My Top 25 model for this week:

It's hard to not pick Rahm with how well he's playing. I think Cantlay needs a few more weeks to get his putter back before I start taking odds as low as he's been getting. I think Power is going to have a breakthrough this season. I can't believe he fell off so hard yesterday.
