Traveling with King Cake

Think I'm headed to CA next month to visit with some clients. Was thinking of taking a couple of small to medium size Randazzo's king cakes with me.
Is there any way I can carry these on through security and onto the plane and make this work? My thought was I would just check a bag for me, and put the king cakes in their boxes in my carryon.
I know I could fit 2 small size king cakes in my carryon, and maybe 2 mediums. Then I could store my carryon on the plane.
My concern is getting through security.

No concern bringing through security, I've brought 3 before in a big plastic grocery bag/Kohl's sized bag and had no issues. It's heavy though the more you take...

Security wouldn’t be an issue. Would it be easier to ship them separately?

Security will be fine. Put all the boxes in one bag so they dont count each box as an individual item. A big backpack or duffle bag should work and obviously make sure they lay flat and put them in the overhead bin.

You'll be fine. I've carried king cakes/French bread on the plane for years.

No problem. We took a King Cake in a carryon bag to my son in Israel.

I have done it often. The only time security was an issue was after 9/11.
Apparently asking the X-ray scanner to let you know where the baby is wasn’t a laughing matter.
I thought it was funny and still do

I just did this, and always do this during MG when I travel for work. I would not put them in a carry on, they will get turned upside down and messed up. Just put them stacked in a grocery bag (reusable grocery bag) and carry them on like that.
Sometimes if I have the space, I bring one to give to the flight crew.

Done this 3 or 4 times. Some advice if you rarely/never check a bag, check your suitcase on the outgoing trip otherwise its really hard to maneuver. I keep my backpack and the king cakes and check my suitcase on the way there, on my return trip (minus the kingcakes) I will carry-on my suitcase. Also 3 stacked cakes will easily fit in the overhead, but 4 probably won't.
