Flight Prices - ATL to St John in June

Most of my travel has been driving trips to Florida.
I've got google's flight tracker turned on to get me alerts, but I'm running out of nerve waiting for prices to do whatever they're going to do. As of now, they're up to 800ish round trip - when i started shopping back in November, they were just below 500.
What do you think? Book now? Hold out a little longer?

Have you tried looking at the prices through an app like Hopper? They have fare prediction, which I've generally found pretty accurate. Google Flights may have a similar feature.

You just gotta understand how airline pricing works. I'm not familiar enough with John to know the demand for them this summer. But everyone is booking June and July travel plans right now, so there's not likely to be many deals.
Generally speaking though there's rarely a reason to book more than 90 days out and usually some of the best deals are offered 60-90 days prior to the trip. Its not likely the prices go up between now and 90 days out, so I'd at least wait for that.

All flights would be in to St. Thomas (STT). You get to St. John by boat or private helicopter.

Not that this helps all that much, since we bought these pretty last minute, but my wife and I just bought two tickets last week on Delta to St Thomas from Atlanta leaving Feb 12th for just shy of $900 each. They were the last two tickets on the second flight of the day down there.

oh boy, we booked back in October for flights in July 2022 for $498. IAH to STT.

That's how you have to do it. I've paid $350 for that flight (from IAD) and I've paid $800.

This was 100% a last minute trip. The house is already paid for so we figured the cost of the tickets is well worth it.
