Those who have been to the new venue, what are your thoughts? I only made it to the old one a handful of times. Gonna be at the new location for American Aquarium next week!

Fantastic, I’ve been averaging a show there every week since they opened.

I too find the alcohol pricy, and thus haven’t been drinking much at most of the shows.

I was happy to see they had Soulfly last night. Anyone make it out for that one?

Made my maiden voyage there Thursday to see NOLA's Green Gasoline open for Nita Strauss. Logan, Dylan and Taylor in GG all use my pickups exclusively.

Chelsea's is a really nice, clean, well operated venue ... I really appreciated the cleanliness throughout, an abundance of staffers, and the semi-sized load in/out bay stage left for the bands is a sweet amenity for the bands.

Seriously, I gigged in so many poorly operated sh@tholes for decades and it's nice to experience the opposite when enjoying live music, especially considering I abstain from alcohol nowadays.

A good shop client who doubles as a pro tour manager for a lot of marquis names you'd know if I dropped them got a two-thumbs-up review from me. He's sharing my take with the national booking agents with whom he works. Let's hope it brings more notable bills.

VIDEO: The GG boys like to throw a cool cover no one plays in their original set. Here's what they did at Chelsea's ... and a chance to hear my pickups in a mix at venue volumes.

I tell my friends that don’t care for metal that if nothing else, they would enjoy the people/crowd/moshpit watching at a show.

Do they require proof of vaccine or a negative test to attend a show? I'm not looking for a pro/anti vax discussion, legitimately asking.

No, only New Orleans does that.

Anyone going to see American Aquarium tomorrow night?

Have to miss both AA and Lucero, but am in for Charley Crockett Saturday. Bummed to be missing Thurs/Fri, but it can't be helped.

On the wagon for lent, going to be interesting Saturday trying to navigate the St Pats drunks.
