Depends on what the dogs life would be like after. Spent over 2k last year on a 5month old puppy, the surgery really didn’t stop him from being a dog. He hand an FHO, so his bad leg just gets tired quicker then the others.

Nothing. My children and wife are more important than an animal. When it’s their time to go then they should go.

I know they make us happy, but the pain of losing a pet will never hurt like losing a son or daughter.

Hope you don’t have pets. You sound like a shitheel.

Not much, as in 2x or 3x what a new dog will cost without all the issues. Yeah, it wouldn't be fun euthanizing my pet, but just like breaking up with a gf, you get another one and forget all about the last one. Life goes on.

Up to $10k, but it really depends on the outlook.

Every penny for Nymeria, I'll empty every IRA and sell all my BTC.

I once spent about $4K on surgery and aftercare for one dog to try to save her life. She was able to live about 2 more months, turns out she had cancer. I don't regret it at all.

One of the things everyone should prepare for if getting a pet, they need healthcare, especially as they age, and you need to prepare for that.

so losing $1 would kill your wife and kids?

You might need to spend some time rethinking your life choices....

I can only assume by this you have fallen on rough times and the choice of your dog's healthcare directly impacts your ability to provide for your family. I say that because that is the only thing that makes sense IF you chose to have a dog in the first place.

Absolutely. And if you're in that situation.....you shouldn't be trying to care for a pet.

All of it. My dogs are my patnas.

Lost my OG a little over a year ago. Still hurts me and my wife. If you told me 50k would bring him back, I’d have it to you the same day.

So if it costs $1 to save your dogs life, you wouldn’t because your wife and kids are more important. I get people have priorities but your statement doesn’t make much sense without some context of a dollar limit.

Sounds like you're too broke to own pets or have kids.

Sorry that you can't pay pet bills with your EBT.

Have an old cat we have spent $2500 on the past couple of years and $6000 lifetime. Will spend $25,000 if we have to.

He is hiding under the couch at this very moment to avoid taking his medicine.

My former boss spent $20,000 on his dog and would write you a check for triple that to have her back.
