So Eric Church had a concert scheduled in San Antonio for the night of the UNC-Duke Final Four game. Being a big UNC fan, he cancelled the concert to attend the game.

A woman I am Facebook friends with had this to say about it: “Eric Church - not a good move, man. You'll pay for this faux pas. This is going to be a different kind of wrecking ball.” I have heard other fans have mixed feelings, and I’m curious what this forum thinks about it.

I personally don’t think it’s a big deal. It’s a one night concert that should be driving distance away for most who planned to attend. It’s not a two week trip to Italy. The tickets will be refunded and if anyone booked anything (hotel, flight) that they can’t at least get a voucher for in the age of COVID, then they’re a dumbass. I’m sure Church will schedule another concert there for another time.

It’s a pretty dick move in my opinion

What he should have done was refund the tickets and because he has an open date that Monday (as does the AT&T center), give vouchers for a free concert Monday. Yes, it would cost him some money but he would make some off merch and go about giving 'something back' for cancelling. Just my opinion

Dick move, but ultimately I don’t care.

I thought about that and think it would have been a good idea.

frick him. If he was such a big North Carolina basketball fan he should not have booked a concert during the NCAA Tournament. The dates are known way in advance.

Duke-UNC in the Final Four for what could be Coach K’s last game wasn’t known well in advance.

I would be happy to not have to go see him.

I for one agree with the facebook post. Honor your commitment, there are people who invested a lot into this.

What does this matter? If he is such a big fan he would not worry about the matchups before deciding to be a dick to his fans.

He announced that he’s making it up at white water in New Braunfels Friday September 2nd for free. Which IMO is a better concert venue than an arena anyways.

So go find something else to be mad about.

No big deal for folks who live nearby, but some fly or drive in and have hotels or VRBO bookings that may cost them. I would be mad as hell if I got burned on travel expenses because of the cancellation.

Dummy should have just canceled due to “exhaustion” or “ unforeseen circumstances”

I could care less about Eric Church. Does not mean he is not an a-hole for doing this. Not sure how you can rationally think otherwise.
