How to revamp swing after shoulder surgery/ long break?

I'm in my early 20's, have taken a really long break from playing. Trying to get back in to it because I need a different weekend hobby other than drinking lol.
I got shoulder surgery 4 years ago, and now I can hardly make decent contact with the ball. There's a lot of toeing and topping the ball. I believe it's because I do not have the same flexibility that I used to have before the surgery. My childhood swing is definitely not the most perfect swing, but it is what felt most natural. Keep in mind that I was certainly not a prodigy as a child, but I could make great contact with the ball.
Is this something I need to get lessons for, or is this just spending hours on the range until I work it out? Any recommendations would be great.

Start with just punch shots. Get closer to the ball and punch it

You need to get lessons. You can go down a dark hole quick trying to improv a swing by overcompensating for an injury.
You’re not the first person with a shoulder problem that instructors have seen.

I tore my labrum, etc had SLAP repair surgery last October.
Six or so staples in the rear of my shoulder and they had to shave my clavicle down as well for some reason.
8 weeks sleeping in a chair.
The key is PT and stretching. Slowly try to increase strength and range of motion. Slow is key.
Im back to hitting full shots with no issue. I do get a little sore after playing 18, but I just ice up.

He needs to get the mobility and strength back in his shoulder, not build a swing around a bum shoulder

Almost exactly what I got.
I got the surgery 4 years ago, range of motion is good for everything else. I don’t understand why it affects my swing so much

Get one of those flexible swing trainers that is whippy and has a ball on the end.
It was great for me building strength and increasing range of motion.
Also worked great for tempo.

I hate to suggest this, because I hate doing this myself, but you should consider giving yoga a try. My wife kind of forced me into it after I had some back issues, and while I hate doing it, it had made a huge difference in flexibility and injury prevention. There are definitely some moves that help out the shoulders, I have an old rotator cuff repair as well, and it’s helped keep the joint in good shape.
As for the toe shots and topping it, it could be one of few things making you come “up” or “out” during your swing. I’ve struggled with that myself and chair or wall drills helps clean that stuff up for me. It could be a lot of things, a pro would probably be best to get to the bottom of the issue for you.

I've had two back surgeries and a broken elbow that hasnt healed properly. My swing has definitely changed
Flexibility was the key for me. I know it's a different type of injury but if I got out there after my back surgery, and this is still the case, and don't stretch really good, I'll be in bed the next day in the fetal position my back hurts so bad. If I ease up on my swing, it's a power fade, so I can't play just taking it easy. Not stretching also makes me chop at it more so my game suffers as well as my back.
Regardless of the injury, I would highly suggest stretching REALLY good before a round. Not just to help the current injury but also to help prevent anything further.
Both of those are good options. If you've been able to work your swing out after long layoffs in the past, you can try time on the range. If it doesn't work out, then look into a coach.

I went to 4 yoga studios one day trying to find one that would work for me.
I do not want to be the only male in there. I found none that had males.
I felt too uncomfortable being the only dude. Im sure every female assumed I was there for women.
