All these Qb threads

The best part of this whole offseason is that we have a great coaching staff and Kelly wants to WIN so the best players will play and if anyone doesn’t like the evaluations then we all know how this works now: ****** is in the transfer portal.

Let’s enjoy baseball season and trust this new coaching staff in football.

LFG

ETA: frick I typed Kelley (I deserve the responses)

Loyalty is to "W's"

The best QB will play the most snaps and we've got 3.5 months to see who that will be.

I doubt that is completely correct. I would say we all have layered degrees of loyalty and coaching staffs are no different. As a coach they will have primary loyalty to the team and the best team outcome (as one poster said, wins but wins as a whole for the season.)

So coaches may have some loyalties to specific players, investments in them, if you will, but those will be superseded by loyalty to the team, as it should.

He likes mobile qb's. Brennan doesn't give him the flexibility he needs at the position.
Just knowing that alone, Brennan should have stayed in portal

Correct. Basically every good QB right now gives you the option to run if things break down. Brennan doesn’t give you that threat at all.

This is the dumbest shite said on the rant when it comes to QBs. No Brennan doesn’t run a 4.4 but neither did Joe. Brennan is plenty fast enough to pick up a first down if needed with his legs. Just stop this running qb bullshite.

Posters down vote when they don't understand.
It's not hating on Brennan. It's simple tendency buy Kelly and his offenses.
Add in the fact that our OL was in disarray at the end of the year, and you'll clearly see why Kelly sought Daniels.

I feel.for Brennan if he has struggles early. He will be pulled with quickness and out of eligibility in the end.

Agreed. Joe illustrated this perfectly. It’s not how fast you can run, but knowing when you should. If you look at some of the scrambles Joe made in ‘19, there was no one within 15 yards of him. He was careful to scramble when DBs turned their backs to tail the WRs. It’s a mental thing too, not just physical tools. I’m also a little concerned about Daniel’s durability. He’s a small guy, and if he gets smeared one good time by an LB (think Skalski on Burrow) I’m not sure he gets back up.

Burrow may not be Lamar Jackson but he is WAY more mobile than Brennan. He almost housed a 50 yard run against Georgia in 2018. Brennan wouldn’t have made it to the 30.

He averages 4.6ypc over his career, moves well in the pocket and is accurate. See the video for a few timely runs reminiscent of the great JB. 1st run roughly 2 min mark. Dude is not the statue some would like you to believe.

I’m not arguing with you there. I’m just saying that speed isn’t everything. Burrow knew when to run. If Brennan can see that as well, he’ll be serviceable. No, he’s not going to make as much out of it as Daniels, but that’s ok as long as it’s there in some capacity. If Brennan can turn an incomplete pass or throwaway into a 5 yard gain, that’s about all you can ask out of him. His arm is unquestionably better than Daniels’ at this stage.

I agree! Not a fan of run heavy QBs but what has Myles shown you to say he has this ability?
