Some buddies and I are playing the Oaks in Pass Christian this weekend. Reviews online are extremely mixed and none that are recent. Anybody play there somewhat recently and have some opinions?

It’s been 9 months since I’ve been there but they seemed to be doing a lot of little things to make it better so that’s a positive. The course is a fairly decent track … nothing really stands out about the layout but it’s priced right so it’s not a bad course.

I played about 3 weeks ago. It was after playing Grand Bear and The Preserve the two days before. So, it didn't compare to them, but I enjoyed it. It was in pretty good shape.

If you think there's a chance you might play there again, I'd recommend buying the member card. I think it's $100, but you geta ton of stuff. One free round, Foursome for a $100, Free hat, 10 free small buckets of balls, and a few other things.

Fairways look pretty tight from the online course layout.

Yeah, it's in a neighborhood, so there's OB all along the sides, but I didn't feel like it was ultra tight. I'm pretty wayward from the tee box and didn't have too much trouble.

That Oaks Card is a great deal, even if you only play it a few times in a year it pays for itself.
