i think he saw them as selfish individuals who arent team oriented and are selfish attention seekers so they didnt fit his idea of team guys with leadership qualities. you cant look at les miles and ed O and say those guys were stand up team players who werent selfish attention seekers so there was something to it you cannot deny.
that said, there were some guys who he should have looked at more but i think he just dismissed LSU as a whole saying it was a corrupted mentality on those teams he wanted no part of.
