Elementary School Kids Getting Straight A's

My daughter is in 2nd grade and all but 2 in her class got straight A's. Seems like the other classes in 1-6 had the bulk of the kids with all A's. Is this normal now? Maybe it is just our kid's school, but elementary school should not be easy for everyone.

My kid is repeating first grade next year so there's that.

I never got the Strait A’s album. Will look it up, thanks.

Probably the school. My daughter's 3rd grade class (albeit small) only had two.

Very normal. The teachers are forced to give kids 2,3,4,etc chances until they make an A. They aren't allowed to give bad grades anymore. Might hurt the kids feeling.

You got to have all A's in this home

And to think, in 20 years they'll be bringing their wives out in a white limousine

I fail to see your point. And aren't 6 year old just given S and U not A-F?

Not everyone is as dumb as you were. Some of us made A's in 2nd grade.

My first B came in maybe 7th grade social studies or some dumb class. I was way ahead of everyone. Eventually got bored. Never had to study and then college came and being smart early screwed me up cause I didn't know how to study.

Elementary school is about building the fundamentals and keeping kids engaged and interested in learning. You do that by rewarding kids with feelings of accomplishment, not by force ranking them against their peers.

I was certainly not an all A student, but that is my point. If the entire class is getting perfect scores, the class is probably too easy.
