So he’s against Biden going there and begging for more oil production?

TF does that clown know about geopolitics?

Seriously. I'm not going to shill for the House of Saud, but there's lots of places with "reprehensible regimes". And we do business with them just like we do with the Saudis.

Stay in your lane.

I wonder if Mr. Douchbag realizes that the USA government subsidizes abortions to the tune of 625,000+ a year. Every. Year.

No one really cares about Chamblee’s views.

He’s not wrong. But his motivation is pretty obvious.

The house of Saudi has a pretty bad regime but being a bad regime doesn’t stop anyone from doing business. I’d argue China is worse and I’m sure he has no problem with them.

Maybe they are and maybe they aren’t. Some fricking golf analyst isn’t and shouldn’t be the source of truth on this one. He’s just being the petty, pissy person he is and talking out his arse.

We buy 500,000 barrels a day from them.

Better in our golfer's pockets than terrorists.

These arguments are always so stupid. It's as if someone doesn't get on their soapbox about everything terrible going on in the world then they can't comment on anything terrible. Chamblee is a complete douchebag, always has been, but this is dumb. But he did make these comments recently with respect to China when responding to a comment like this

quote:

I’ll agree that the world should be talking about the atrocities in China more, and holding the CCP accountable, but I won’t agree that bc the world is not talking more about those atrocities they shouldn’t be talking about the worst offender of human rights in the world, MBS.

There's also a difference here no one cares to address. The IOC made China the host of the Olympics, not the golfing world. Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson chose to start a golf league financed by terrorists.

I see Rory catching heat too. If you actually listened to his comments, he said he understood why players who were older and/or not competitive on the PGA Tour anymore wanting to cash in on the LIV money. What he said, however, was that the best golfers in the world are still on the PGA Tour so that's where he wants to be. He said this at the Memorial before the LIV event started.

quote:

“I have some very close friends that are playing in this event in London, and I certainly wouldn’t want to stand in their way to do what they feel is right for themselves,” McIlroy said Wednesday at Muirfield Village Golf Club, home to The Memorial. “It’s not something that I would do personally. But I certainly understand why some of the guys have went, and it’s something that we are all just going to keep an eye on and see what happens over these next few weeks.”

“You have some guys in a position where like they are literally not guaranteed a job next year. It’s hard to stay in the Top 125 out here, especially when you’re a guy in your 40s and maybe you don’t hit the ball as far as you’ve used to,” McIlroy said. “As we’ve seen, it’s a young man’s game nowadays. So someone that isn’t guaranteed their Tour card next year, another entity comes along and says, we’ll guarantee you this amount for three years, plus you’re playing for a ton more prize money, and you’re playing less events, you can spend more time with your family.

“Whenever you sit down and look at some of those things, you know, it’s very appealing to some of those guys that are in that position. I’m not in that position, and it’s not something that I would do.”

And he echoed that same sentiment yesterday after the players were suspended by the PGA

quote:

"I guess there are consequences to those decisions, but as I said in my press conference yesterday, the guys in London have to do what they feel is right for themselves.

"I certainly don't begrudge them for being there, I certainly don't envy them, but I've always felt this is the best place to play golf, and I still believe that."

Asked if he would take in any of the LIV Golf action, he replied: "I'm as engaged as everyone else in just wanting to see how it's going, so I'll have a look and see how it's going. Haven't bought any team merchandise yet, but I'll have an eye on how some of the boys are doing over there."
