Glock Model 43X

I went to my favorite gun shop with the intention of buying a Glock model 17. However, it did not take long for me to realize that a model 17 does not fit my stubby little hand.
The dealer also had a model 43X and it fit my hand quite well. Has anyone had any experience with the model 43X? If so then your thoughts would be appreciated.

Its a glock. Will last forever and likely have zero issues. It has ten thousand accessories to make it seem fun, interesting, and unique when really is a boring plastic gun that is way overpriced with a shitty trigger and shitty sights.
Should have bought the Canik TP9 Elite and saved yourself a hundred dollars or more. At least it has a better feel and a trigger that shits all over Glocks and better sights.

The PSA dagger gets great reviews and is a lot cheaper than that Glock.

Bought four of them. Gave one to my dad. Good gun, reliable.
I have done custom work to two of them...laser engraved and gold inlayed one of them. I do not carry one. I prefer a 45acp. They are right about the Canik...see other review thread.

I own a 19 and a 43X. I love both of them, and shoot both of them very well. I took my CCP class with my 43X; if and when I carry, its the 43X. The 19 is my nightstand gun. I highly recommend the 43X.

I love it (the 48 as well). And the aftermarket 15 round magazines are reliable now too.

Understandable. I shoot a G23 and changed the barrel to a 9mm because I just like the compact size for my hands. Was looking at 43x and i was only getting a thinner rail. I can shoot 15 rd G22 mags in .40 but they extended out with a spacer so I went 9mm barrel in G23. The 15rd 9mm mags fit flush
Plus I have other 9mm backup so i can focus on 9mm stockpile

frick yeah that’s what I did.
I love my Glock20 but I only got it bc it’s 10mm. Otherwise Glocks are like Toyota Corollas. Reliable but plain and ubiquitous.

Been using 43 for almost 1.5 years now and it's extremely comfortable. If it feels nice in your hand - go for it, you won't regret.

43X is a very popular gun. Mostly because its a GLOCK. I own one and its my daily carry. I have had a couple of failures to eject with it though. The brass getting stuck behind the extractor.

Caniks are hipster guns. When you buy one they issue you a pair of tight jeans and an appointment to the hair salon to get your man bun done, and a gift card to Starbucks for a soy latte.

I have a 43x with a Holosun optic and I love it. I intend to get the shield arms mags for it soon.

Slight decrease in trigger distance. Exact same height with mag. The overall length isnt a prob for me CC. Its the height alone. Overall width we’re talking 1.26” G23 vs g43x 1.1”. Negligible. Now when it gets cold in the fall and I hibernate with football, beer and grilling that .15” might get snug

We have a few 43x's here at the house, and a 48. I have the Shield 15 magazines and use them on the 48 and one of the 43x's. My 43x, with the Shield 15, is my every day concealed carry. My wife and one of my sons both have a 43x MOS, with another son who has a standard 43x, like mine. They all love theirs as well. I've put a decent amount of rounds through both the 48 and 43x, and love both of them. We haven't had any issues at all with any of them. It fits well in their hands, and they feel comfortable using it.
Any decision you make on an every day concealed carry gun comes down to compromises. Size/weight/caliber/stopping power/under penetration or over penetration/number of rounds/etc. You have to choose what works best for you and your environment. I have a Desert Eagle 50AE, but using it as a carry weapon isn't practical. It would certainly stop anything I'd hit with it, but the weight/size/over penetration would cause issues in a public setting. IMO with the size, reliability and durability of the 43x, the amount of rounds you can carry with the Shield 15, and the newer and better personal protection ammunition for the 9mm, it makes a lot of sense, for me, to go with one for a concealed carry gun.
Long story short, I think it would be an asset to own a 43x.
