Recommend a good forgiving set of clubs for a beginner golfer

My son just turned 16 and has taken a lot of interest in playing golf. He went to the course last week for the first time and using my clubs, managed three bogies and one par on 9 holes (didn't play 18).
I think I'm going to buy him a quality set of used clubs. Obviously looking for maximum forgiveness and no more than 5yrs old. What do you recommend?

Ping Eye 2 copper (BECU). If I were looking for good beginner set that is forgiving and can now be purchase relatively cheap that is where I would start. I’d graduate pretty quickly to some more modern clubs if he shows continued interest.

For a beginner, I would suggest a full set of Wilson's from one of the box stores. A full set with bag won't break the bank, and the clubs are very good and forgiving for learning the game. After a couple of years on those, he can step up to a game improvement set.

I like this idea. Those Wilson's don't like a terrible choice either. Thx guys.
