What happened to Blondies on the upper East side?? They took care of us up there. $10 all you could drink draft for the game!

All those little bars get a cheese DJ that can't beat mix and tries to soooo hard... train wrecks and old played out shite nobody wants to hear.

Nobody gives a shite about CF in NYC.. nobody except people from out of town... and the Guido's think they're local and hate out of town people. Unless your hair has reached the "Empire State" of spikiness. Then,,, mad respect is yours.

NYC is souless on the weekend.

While I did read with amusement you account of the story, including contact with the ubiquitous "guido", I was amused by your tale of having to describe one.

I do have to disagree with many of your guido descriptors. There are many guidos in the Philly area. Perhaps there are different strains and need to be classified as a different animal.

Perhaps Guidicous Newyorkus and Guidicous Philiadelphiacus should be their true scientific name. I would need to evaluate the New York Guido before I was willing to agree that they are in fact different species.

There are many guidos in Philly, and as stated, they are almost universally of italian descent. The philly guido does not have to be a muscle bound freak, he is more known for his proclivity to wear gold chains and wear clothes soley for their labels. Also, they use way too much hair product and after shave.

In short, a guido is difficult to describe. It is more along the lines of how a famous judge described porn when he said, "You know it when you see it."

That is awesome (in a way)... and so typical...

Exactly why I don't do CFB at NYC bars any more. They have no clue.

From this point forward the New York Chapter of the LSU Alumni will be watching all of our football games at Legends. Legends is directly across the street from the Empire State Building.

Unbelieveable, In 2004 I visited New York for the first time...got of the train at Penn Station and walked the 1 block over to the empire state building to take the elevator ride to the top. Then proceeded to walk over 60(sixty) blocks to Blondie's Bar in upper east (at the time it was the NY alumni hangout) I know, I know, few bucks for a Cab or Subway, but I am a ranter so obviously I walked. And I walked fast to get there on time, but a monsoon caused the Oregan State game to be delayed so it was for naught.

Anyway, It's nice to know that where the LSU hang out is now, you don't have to cab, subway, or walk for 60 blocks after arriving at Penn Train Station

They are similar. While attending law school in Philly, my best friends were Guidos. Since I married a Guidette from Brooklyn, I can verify that there are more similarities than differences between the two.

As someone from NY i can tell u the only way to get rid of guido douchebags is to bring around numerous fine ladies who can resist the appeal of their spiked hair, armani exchange shirts and shite cologne cuz once those guido fricks lose their confidence they get pissed and effecitvely bail out

i still lived up there when they moved to Turtle Bay from Blondie's. I stopped going just b/c Turtle Bay was such a terrible spot. I can't believe it lasted this long.

I was there last year for the USC game coincidentally, and I have to agree with that assessment. Too crowded, terrible service, too loud. I did not stay long enough, however, to see the Guidos, unfortunately.

I just pulled up that blog and enjoyed the article. So, I decided I would see what else the cajun has to say, and that is when I nearly spit up my late lunch when this article popped up on the front page:

This is me vomitting
