Yessim, they’re apparently ready and willing to tear it down to the studs to keep that Trump guy from running in 2024. Even though all these people amongst us insist he’s a guaranteed loser. I’m flummoxed over it. Can’t make heads ner tails of it.

I’ve never used it- but as best I understand WhatsApp is a messaging platform owned by Facebook where ppl can send encrypted text messages to each other.
You use the internet to communicate, but it’s not a txt message or an email that goes thru a server.
Basically he’s saying that Facebook let the FBI read his text messages, just because.
ETA - it’s further worth mentioning that Kash has a pretty advanced security clearance. (Even tho it isn’t require bc Trump declassified the Crossfire Hurricane documents the FBI seized bc they are trying to figure out how busted about with this shitshow). He was Devin Nunes’s staffer for national security issues and before that prosecuted terrorists. He is a rogue agent the Deep State is trying to control with this bullshite. Kash is too smart for that. I want him to be the next AG - but he wants to be DHS head. Guy is sharp as a tack and he’s the mastermind that’s gonna bring these bastards down.

Yes they can read Facebook messages bc they’re exchanged on Facebook’s server. Therefore, they’re technically Facebook’s property. Emails exchanged on a work server, for example, are not private - they belong to your employer.
As I understand it (and I’m way too blonde to be a tech person) WhatsApp messages are not - and they are supposed to remain private and encrypted. He has a reasonable expectation of privacy in those. The search (reading of them) is therefore violative of the 4A
