When is the last time our defensive line was this stacked?

Last year

Hopefully we stay healthy and the young guys mature

ETA:

It's the same line except we lost Farrell, who was great, and added Wingo. Yes, the young guys are older, so hopefully that helps, but the roster is very much the same.

Every non blitz defensive play will be a blitz anyway and I like that

2011 was damn good. Mingo, Logan, Montgomery, Brockers, Johnson, Edwards, Ego.

They were deep but this team is most top heavy. Now we have multiple 1st rounders.

If they can put it all together, should be elite. Hard to say. LSU has lacked an elite D-Line since 2011 with Mingo, Montgomery, Brockers, Logan, etc.

You add Perkins at linebacker and no way will their top back have over 100 yards.

I'm also hearing a lot about how good of a camp Desmond Little is having. Then, you've also got Quency Wiggins and Zavier Carter to boot.

Great problem to have.

The same line got destroyed by ucla last year. It’s like y’all erase reality out of your systems

I’m not as high on this line as most are. I think J-Roy has been very inconsistent in his career so far. Gaye has always been gimpy and slow off the ball. Masson is a physical freak but needs to play more disciplined. Excited about BJ in his natural stand up roles.

Most curious about the development of Tank and to see how the Iron Tiger Wingo looks. Feel like we’re really gonna miss Farrell this year. He demanded double teams against every opponent last year and damn near never got blown off the ball.

ETA: some of this is also due to Ed’s style of defensive line coaching and assignments. The DL played with little discipline the past two years without Aranda’s scheme in place. Ed wanted DL flying upfield and stopping the run on the way to the QB and it was antiquated when compared to the type of defense required for the modern game.

Yeah, I'll take a wait n see approach before I anoint this D-line our best ever. Gotta think BK will not ever have a team that plays as confused as last year's squad though.

I don’t think I can stand our defensive line losing contain on outside zone runs anymore. Watching our guys getting completely taken out of plays because Ed wanted them rushing up field with reckless abandon hurt to see.

We’re deep and the game is played slightly different in the last 12 years, but that 2011 proved it and all played on Sundays. Plus they had a lot of help in the back DBU smothered WRs given them one more second. We stacked no doubt but they got to PROVE it.

Did I miss the 2022 season already? Why are we anointing before we've even played a game? When was the last time our defense was this stacked "on paper" is the better ask.

You can't discount that these players are all a year older like roy and smith.

You don't have a farrell in the middle so that is a bit worrisome for the run game.

The desmond little thing is surprising. Zavier carter is like 205 pounds. I wonder if they will find a spot for hi..

Not discounting it, but we have essentially the same guys minus Farrell add Wingo.

Most hyped for sure!

Let's see 8f they can stop anybody before we put them in the discussion of greatness! Daronte Jones had this starting four and didn't do much.

I mean it's the same thing as saying our 2018 WR corp was the same as the 2019 one, except we just lost Giles.

Can't discount growth of guys like Smith, Ojulari, Roy, Gaye etc.
