Traveling via a private jet is a luxury for most. For PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, it’s a requirement.

A Wall Street Journal report has detailed Monahan’s use of a PGA Tour-owned jet for both personal and business trips, citing flight records, a commercial jet-tracking service and various sources. As part of the report, the Tour told the Journal that Monahan, “is required by its Policy Board, which includes players, to use the corporate plane for all air travel—business and personal—because it provides the ‘necessary level of efficiency, privacy, and security.’”

I didn’t think he took the Greyhound for work. What’s the problem?

Exactly.

Wonder how Norman is going to get to Thailand in October for the LIV exhibition ?

That's a long swim...

Agreed. He is apparently required to use it for personal trips too, which is odd.

Not really that rare. It's all part of their compensation plan.

A lot of corporations require their top executives to take separate planes to meetings, etc...

A National customer of mine has their top executives die in a plane crash. It devastated the company and it didn't survive.

$15 million and unlimited use of the corporate jet ain't bad for a nonprofit.

Note: I got called a liar for saying he made that much because people don't know how financial statements work

Yep.

I don't blame the players. I just hate seeing them work for the Saudi's and their bad product.

He won the Wells Fargo and the Genesis before the Fortinet.

"work for the Saudis": How anyone can give a frick about this in 2022 blows my mind. Nobody cared about people doing business with the Saudis (hell, the tour was giving one-off exemptions to play there before LIV was formed) until it resulted in a threat to severely impact the tour, at which point this became a convenient talking point for the LIV opposition.

"bad product": How is it possible to make that conclusion at this point? Maybe it'll never be a good product, and it will always be subjective so perhaps in your eyes it will forever be a bad product regardless of what this looks like as the years go by, but it seems a little short-sighted to draw that conclusion now and close the book on it, no?

It is not a good production now and maybe it will improve over time.

I will agree with you on that point.

As far as the Saudi's, it's more personal for me and the loss of a good friend.
