The fans. For pre-game, I didn't sense a lot of noise and anticipation. Don't give me the bullshite excuse about the day game and not being pumped up. That place should have been raucous in the minutes leading up to the game. It wasn't. Shame on the fans who left early in the 4th quarter. Way to quit on the team. Hope you beat the traffic. That is so important. Kudos to the real fans who stayed.

This to me says it all about our so called great fans support.

SEC crowds feed on defense. A lot of people are hungry.

Thank you I stayed and got to drink while waiting an hour for the traffic to move five feet. Shame when all those people left at the end of the third quarter. Damn shame. I am no basher, but that shite was plain sad.

That was a fricking disgrace.

I hate it when the so-called "fans" leave early when were down, but they will be the same people to go buy NC tickets and keep the real fans who love this team from being a part of the moment.

Its a shame and it has been going on for years.

If your not going to stay, KEEP YOUR arse HOME ON SATURDAY.

We would be better off without you there.

I have to agree with everyone else. I watched it on TV and didn't turn the channel..not even once. I could not believe it when the fans started leaving. That had to be hard on the boys that were on the field. It was embarrassing to be a fan after that.

I actually thought the fans were pumped early...in South end zone it was hard to hear the band early on because of the noise...no excuse for leaving

Well said. Leaving early seems to mean first to the trough for bowl tickets. Had friends and our kid's friends that would love to go, but tickets were not available. Promise they would have stayed for the whole game!

....I agree. Leaving early is a slap in their faces and they do NOT deserve that.

yeah, watching here in KY, I couldn't believe fans were leaving, especially when we still had a shot.

I've been watching LSU since the late seventies, and the fans now are no where near what they were then. I don't want to hear that we expect more that is not a excuse not to cheer your team during the game ;certianly when there is still a chance. Get mad later at the coaches or whoever else or stay and yell maybe they will hear you. The home crowd can change close games, they should be ashamed.

I went to my first game in 73. The people who brought me STILL have those tickets and STILL leave in the third qtr no matter what.
Naturally, Saturday going into the stadium, I run into them...bad omen i guess

I was there, beating my head on the bleachers all the way through the fourth quarter. Most of the student section stayed except the greeks. I think they were trying to get a heads up on the next wine mixer or some other social function because football games to them are a big meet and greet.

Guy behind me (424, Row 12) did nothing but bitch the entire game and then left within 3 minutes of the second half starting.

Worst "fan" I have ever run into. We stayed until the game was over, because until about 8 minutes to go the game wasn't out of reach.

I have never left a game early...never. Unfortunately, my brother had to give up his season tickets, and I can't go anymore. The fairweather/bandwagon fans hold the tickets then gouge real fans on the internet.
It's really sad to see the "fans" that don't really care deny those that do care a chance to truly support the team...good or bad.

My husband and I have had season tickets for 25 years...we never leave early. Think about that, all you young guys who weren't there during Archer, Hallman and Dinardo...just imagine getting beat in Tiger Stadium by Ole Miss or being plastered by Miami in driving rain...we never left early...call us crazy, but if you love the Tigers, you stay to support them...with that said, it ain't just Tiger fans, it happens at every stadium. It's really funny to see folks leave, regardless of the score, with 5 or more minutes left in the game...because they want to beat the traffic? Geez, why even come if the game's hanging in the balance and you leave, but it happens.

everyone who talks about how the fans were better and more crazy back in the day are full of it. when we were terrible in the 90's the stadium was never full and the fans constantly boo'd and cussed our own players

I'm with you - I don't leave early either and we still had a shot with a few minutes to go had things fallen into place - I kept hoping for a minor miracle to rub it in the faces of those who left esrly...

One comment- I loved our last play of the game - it was really well executed - it didn't make any difference but I'd love to see them run that again sometime when we are up by 20 points or more against Tulame!

I sat through the pain of Curly, Dinardo, and I too will never forget the Miami rain catastrophe. I remember walking back to our cars in mud and changing clothes in a van. What a mess!

I sat through the game until the end, and while I thought the team was going to comeback, I will not fault fans for leaving when the team plays like that. I think many factors exist as to why the stadium is not as loud as we would like, and its not just because the "real" fans don't have tickets.

First, it is not easy to keep yelling when one great drive is followed by a pick 6, or our defense gives up a big play on a 3rd and long. It kept deflating the crowd.

Second, I sit behind the bench, and maybe it is just me, but the LSU players looked defeated and without confidence on the sidelines. Scott and RJF are the only ones I saw trying to everyone pumped (though there are probably some I missed, as I generally watch the game). I wonder what Stelz thought, since he was down there.

Finally, I cannot stand the new location of the band. I can barely hear it now (when the stadium is quiet). It was a bad decision, and I think it also helps to take our crowd out of the game.

I'm so glad this topic got brought up because NO ONE has brought this up yet. Good Lord people, let's talk about something new.

You wanna stay, stay. You wanna leave, leave. I don't have a clue why any of you get so wound up about this non-sense. Must be nice not to have any other problems in your life than when people leave an LSU football game.
