I traded a guy Herbert in exchange for J. Chase and 2 first round picks next year. 10min later dude regrets it and complains to the commissioner, who then puts it to a vote and the league vetoed and reversed the trade. Such bullshite IMO.

I’m screwed since I’m in another league with these guys and am friends with some of them. Just frustrating because I have Allen and Herbert and nothing else so this trade would help me rebuild and get out of the basement. So I’m just fricked and have to keep paying dues to lose, I guess.

Trading is an art. You can't punish people for being able to pull off trades. The only exception IMO is my work league for instance. These guys have barely ever played. One dude thought trading Burrow for Tyreek was fair. I gotta be careful with shite like that as the commissioner and half arse hold their hands through a lot of this shite.

True. We’ve been in this league for a few years now and everyone is pretty experienced. The guy I traded with claimed he thought I was giving him Herbert and 2 firsts for Chase, which I think is ludicrous. First, you know how Sleeper works. Second, who the hell would offer that?

Is this a superflex league?

If not, that trade is horseshite lol

I was going to say the same, but I'm against trade veto overall unless :collusiongif:

If it's not SF, Chase is arguably worth more than Herbert standalone in a redraft, dependent on team structure.

In a Dynasty, Herbert is no where near worth Chase + (2) 1st round draft picks.

Not superflex, definitely not collusion, but was happily accepted

Everyone values players differently

Some strictly go by trade charts online and those are the ones who usually do it

I think you hit great points here.

I always look at a trade to help both teams - from both owners eyes. Maybe it's easily to be on the outside and question it. I get that.

If your owners are seasoned and understand, they're looking for a trade that helps them and for the other owner.

This is why trades are often difficult to obtain. Either someone outside thinks they're getting "trade raped" or the like.

And I'm a player that have been on opposite sides of the spectrum. Also play in highly competitive leagues, many on TD.

This situation came up in my league a few years back and I’d like to get the board’s opinion.

One owner was out of playoff contention and had nothing to play for. No keepers, dynasty, next years draft position etc. Nothing was in play for him in context of the season.

He made a trade that was very much one sided in the other direction for ROS to a team that was in 2nd place. However, he made a side bet with another owner about that week’s matchup and it did give his team more projected points that one week.

Think of trading away Ekeler bc he was out with Covid that week for Khalil Herbert who was starting (that wasn’t the trade but just an example)

Allow the trade or no?

That’s tough. I hate vetoes, but there’s zero rational defense to this trade from the Herbert side.

I’m confused. Herbert and Chase are getting traded for each other. Herbert and 2 1sts for Chase is ludicrous in your opinion, but you want to receive Chase and 2 1sts for Herbert? What are your settings that make Herbert more valuable than Chase?

Had one a couple of years ago that I was instrumental in vetoing. It was a free league among friends and friends of friends. Dude would always make crazy trade proposals, so everyone generally responded with equally ridiculous ones. Close to the end of the year, he would message people who were mathematically eliminated basically begging for players. Someone agreed to send QB5 for RB57 or something like that. I got that shite shut down and that was the last year I played in that league. I've always been competitive, but that just irks the shite out of me

Why did the league vote against that?

Hebert isn’t worth Chase and 2 first round picks.

The problem with QBs is that you will never get their worth via a trade.

I don't think this trade is that crazy. Especially considering it is for a QB.

I probably wouldn't pay 2 firsts, but I might give Chase and a 1st for Herbert. It just depends how desperate I am. I think it's lame the guy had remorse and they put it to a vote after the fact. I don't understand why the rest of the league voted against it.

I bet someone let him know the trade was dumb after the fact.

I would never play in a money league that allowed league voting for vetoes. Commish just gets that power for suspected collusion. There is something the OP isn’t telling, I guess this is a dynasty or keeper league? Chase and 2 1sts for Herbert is a god awful trade so I can see why people vetoed it if you allow them to.
