Apple watch for teen?

I know nothing of these things, as I use Fitbit. My 16 year old boy is tough to buy for. I think he would like one. Which one? Looks like Walmart has a deal on the series 3? Sam's looks much higher. Help please.

Don’t get the series 3, it is in the process of being discontinued, I would look at the SE2 and see if there are any deals there.

My 16 yr old son doesn’t have his phone away from his face long enough to need a watch. Does have the airpod pros…

Get them an Apple Watch SE this holiday season. Perfectly fine. It's a great substitute for a phone, because you can get the one that has cellular (I think it's $10 per watch to add it to AT&T,) then you have "emergency" coverage and they don't get shite like TikTok, FB, Instagram. I can see where my kid is, I can approve who he can text and call, etc.

Just traded in my old series 3 for a 7. Wife got an SE last year and my daughter is using a 3 now. Don’t get the 3. At least an SE and get the cell coverage. Like others said it is $10 add on to most cell plans. Daughter can call us without her phone and send quick replies if we text her during the day.

Thanks everyone. SE it is. Really won't need cellular though. He always has his phone and we have life 360.
